He probably thinks that he runs the show now. On the serious side each cat has a different personality and some are social and some are really independent

It's called, he's spoiled. Thinks he's the boss, the king of the castle and that your there to be his servant. There's not a whole lot you can do because cat's generally are like that, and they're not the type to change and do what you say. It's said that A cat owns you, you don't own the cat. My cat Linus was my only for about a year and a half, and in that time I treated him like a spoiled prince. Now that I have 3 other cats, he expects to get the most of every thing because he was my "first born" and he bullies the rest of my cats because of this.

Get him active! My cat would be 200 pounds if he didn't do all the active things he does, that little pig. He's outside all the time, forcing your cat outside will make it try to make the best of things, and he'll have fun, and want out more. If your worried, tie your cat to a leash.
Getting your cat anything with catnip will make him jumpy for hours, trying to get the toy open for the catnip inside. Moving mice, bells, and strings also make fine toys.
My cat also likes chasing bugs, so set him loose near a patchy of fishflies or junebugs, and he'll go crazy!

That pretty much describes a cat. That's what they do - they eat, sleep. Take time to pet your cat. Be gentle with animals. Find out how your cat prefers to play. They might like to chase a string or a ball or a lazer light. Be respectful of their wants. For example, if your cat bolts when you try to pick it up, don't pick it up. If your cat enjoys catnip, offer your cat some.
Find out what your cat enjoys and give it to them.
Pets often train their masters.
And, please remember, pets don't understand what you are saying. She is not ignoring you.
And, enjoy! Pets add so much to our lives.
Best wishes.

Er hello, cat's ARE the boss. They're not dogs, they're not humans - they do whatever they want. You didn't know this when you got one?
By the way, if you actually think he might be ill at all, take him to a vet.

He's obviously not stimulated enough. Make sure he has enough toys around. Play with him a lot. When you're around, drag a string around with or without a toy at the end. They love that!! Catnip filled toys are a plus!!
Lots of love & attention and your cat will love it!!!!!!!

Sounds like every cat I've ever known. If you wanted something different, you should have gotten a dog.

Is this your first cat?
This is purrfectly normal behavior for cats.
Haven't you ever read Garfield?
I got a cat who likes to sleep or be petted.
Another who likes to play fetch with rolled up pieces of plastic and follow when I walk my dog.
The key is only when they want to.
