Hello, My name is Amber and some friends have moved in with my family and I. Well there dog started itching her ears just recently and we think she might have ear mites. Some friends have given us slight ideas on how to get rid of the mites but none have worked. If you could please help me that would help.
Thanks,
Amber =]

My dog had a problem with ear mites last summer. I took her to the vet and all the vet said was to pick up a bottle of mineral oil, put it on a cotton swab or paper towel and wipe the inside of her ears down with it. So if you know for a fact it's ear mites, that's the cheapest thing to do. If you're not sure, you might want to consider taking the dog to the vet to find out.

I know you can get some stuff at a pet store that is strictly for ear mites but you have to be sure its ear mites and nothing else. You can always have the vet swab the ear and look at it...takes all of 10 minutes. If it is ear mites they will give you something for this.

You need to go to a VETS.

First of all, you need to know that it is ear mites, so you need a vet to confirm. It could be a bacterial ear infection. They you need a vet to prescribe correct medication.

Revolution is a spot-on flea treatment that also prevents ear mites, but if there is already an infection of these, you will need other treatment too. Again I stress, VETS.

If you go to a pet store, they should have some over the counter meds for ear mites, but if that doesn't work, you'll have to take him to the vet.

the dog needs to see a vet and determine if its mites or not. it could be allergies, mites, infection (yeast, bacterial or fungal!)

once the vet figures out whats wrong, then he can tell you the best treatment.
