Ok, I have a 1999 Ford Winstar with power locks and windows BUT it did NOT come with keyless entry. So, I got a keyless entry control module (with 2 fobs) from another 1999 Winstar off of EBay. I went to install it in the location (behind the glove compartment) where the factory keyless module would be if my van had originally been installed with it hoping the wiring would be there by default. It wasn't.
So my question is does anyone know what type of wiring harness(es) I will need? There are three places on the keyless entry control module to plug into. AND where the wiring harness(es) would, in turn, get wired into?

I've checked all over the internet and can't find any more info than what I already know.

Any other info/help you may have would also be appreciated!
Thanks!

You are SOL, you would need an entire dash and door harness set according to my parts man, it seems the doors are wired different for the vehicles with RKE. It will be a lot easier to re-sell the parts on E-bay and purchase an aftermarket keyless entry system and if you go that route you might as well opt for remote start also, it won't cost anymore.

Add a 3rd one to that list.... Unless the vehicle came with it, usually Ford doesn't add the wires for it (they are on some vehicles to make less numbers of wiring harnesses however)

But yeah, you are SOL, best to have a system installed at a shop or dealer.. this is not something I'd recommend to a basic shade tree mechanic .. As it's no less than a few hour job (I know my last one took me 6 hours)

you can try to cycle the key in the ignition from off to on 8-10 times within 10 seconds, do not start the car. After doing this the door lock should cycle from locked to unlocked by themselves. Once the door locks cycle, press the lock or unlock button on the remote, the car should respond according to the button pressed. I'm not sure if this is going to work on this car but its worth the shot

Bikertrash has it exactly right!! I can think of nothing to add, except that if you go the remote start setup, make sure it has the accessory option so you can have the heat or a/c come on during remote start..... and he got my thumbs-up!
