You do not have to wear an engagement ring whether you are a woman or a man. The ring signifies a woman is engaged and to tell the truth .....we just love the diamond so we want a ring. You are giving your promise to marry ach other soon. You can be engaged with no ring...it just means you asked and she said yes. A man hardly ever wears an engagement ring..only the wedding band along with the bride. I hope it is clear. The important thing is that you both want to get married and you are planning for it.....that is the engagement....not a ring....a ring just means...."I love you and will do anything for you.....hear is proof". Good luck and plan the marraige more than you plan the wedding.

The engagement is simply the period between when one of you asks the other to get married, and the wedding. Technically, therefore, yes, you do have to be engaged to get married, even if it's only for five minutes.
I'm not sure how to answer your question about how engagement rings work. Either you wear one, or you don't...generally your choice. Often this is a surprise from the groom to the bride, but there is no "rule" that says this is how it has to be...In fact, I chose my own, on a shopping trip with my fiance (now husband), after he asked me to marry him.

No, it's symbolic. You could go to vegas right now and get married. THere is no paperwork or legality with engagements, they are just an announcement that you are planning something in the future. Rings are not required, once again, symbolic only. If you dont know that, you are too young (or uneducated) to be making a lifelong decision such as marriage.

usually you start by getting engaged, and no you don't have to wear a ring. Go about it however you want...

no it is just a step inbetween the dating and the marriage that couples make.. It isnt anythign that you have to do.. YOu dont have to wear a wedding ring.. Basically the time period between the two is used to plan the wedding..

no one has to be engaged - it is just an announcement to your friends and family that you have promised to each other to join your lives in the unity of marriage.
