Dear Luis.....please don't believe that there are any effective home remedies for anxiety. Slight anxiety can be alleviated by avoiding sugar, caffeine etc. but severe anxiety and panic attacks need to be controlled with medication, the same way that a diabetic takes insulin to control sugar. best wishes

By home remedies I'm assuming that means you don't want to go to the store. -Camomile tea is very helpful, especially at night. -When you feel an attack coming on take deap breaths, even if your chest feels heavy. Sometimes when you have an attack you will take short, shallow breaths. Takeing deep breaths will help bring more oxygen to your body. - Don't eat anything with caffine, even chocolate. For a while I couldn't even have a cookie with chocolate. -Eat a balanced diet and don't let yourself get too hungry. -Honey is also very helpful. Try honey in the tea, and just spoonfuls. -Get reqular excerise, but nothing to strenus. -You also can help by always having crutches. Like if you go for walk, take your cell phone, or always make sure you have can leave anywhere right away. I always get nervous if I go somewhere and feel as though I can't leave should a panic attack arise. -When you do have an attack, try and remember what you thinking about when it happened. This will help identify what is bothering you.

What everyone else said so far...plus meditation.
Read some books from the library or book store about anxiety.
Do things you love.
Bach Flower Remedies or Homeopathic remedies from the health food store. Or aroma therapy (what do you love to smell that would help you feel calmer?)
A hot bath.
Talk to a friend.

I have suffered from anxiety for a very long time. What I did is called cognitive therapy. First sit down and think what has you anxious. Then decide is this a rational feeling or is it unfounded? I have found that most of my fears are irrational. They usually come from what ifs. What if this happens? You have to realize that most of these what ifs never happen. Also we can't control what happens to us we can only control how we react when something does. Make the best decisions you can and be confident that you can handle anything. Best of luck to you.

Look for a book called "Self Coaching". Amazon should have it. There are lots of other books like this in the same category. These kinds of books are great because they teach you how to think differently and manage the anxiety. I suffered for years from anxiety and depression and this really helped me.

Breathing exorcises...try to relax, breath slow and deep through your nose, and out your mouth. There's no real quick cure for it....if you can avoid stress, and try to tell yourself that it's mind over matter. If that doesn't work then you may need to lose the home remedies and go to a doc. But the breathing exorcises work for me if I do it before the anxiety gets to bad.

Yoga is pretty good.
And watching tv/listening to music can help you forget about anxiety.

anxiety can build up do to chemical overload on your body system. you could start by using simple cleansing techniques and start dumping out the toxins from your body and see how this improves. make sure you drink lots of water while detoxifying.

Deep breathing. I would laugh when people told me to breath. Now I see that it actually works.
