My 7 year old niece has been having a lot of behavior trouble lately. She is the middle child. Her older brother is almost 10, and her younger sister is 3.
*She lies a lot. Sometimes the lies are about trivial things and sometimes they are to stay out of trouble.
*She taunts her little sister. Many times she talks her out of her toys so that she can play with them. Or she'll throw them, etc.
*She is very boy crazy, but she likes to dress so that she looks like a boy, and beams when people tell her that she looks like one.
*She always tries to tag along with my nephew & his friends.
*She is mean and bossy to the kids she plays with, and initiates physical fights sometimes.
*She throws fits when she doesn't get her way.
*Last night, my nephew and his friend were playing video games. She walked in front of them, and pulled her pants down in their faces. She told her parents that my nephew's friend told her to do it. Then, she noticed that she would get in trouble for lying.

I would try to spend some alone time with her parents..it sounds like she just wants attention...once she sees that she can get positive attention she'll no longer need to do otherwise...keep in mind it might take a while to reverse such state of mind...she should go out to eat with her parents or simply to the grocery store without her siblings around for a while...the parents may even set aside time to spend with each sibling to dedicate deserved quality time...if this doesn't work, which i think it will within time..then maybe counseling but i doubt it'll get that far

My niece does the name thing! she's a tiny little thing. tall and full of energy. the thing that REALLY scares me about her behavior ( my niece) is that her mother...( due to medications from a immune problem) is morbidly obese. We've always taught her that everyone has inner beauty, as well as extior. My sister in law... is beautiful, even though she's large and I know my niece has never herd anyone say anything bad about her mom. at least not an adult. Are the adults in your nieces family overweight? I'm not sure how much of an aswer this is. I think it may just be a phase. i hope so. good luck

Someone needs to start being consistent in their discipline with her. If a child knows that they can get away with acting out then they will. If she is punished in a consistent manor each time she acts out she will begin to calm down. The other thing is it sounds like she may need a little more attention. It's not always easy being the middle child.

That sounds like rather strange behavior for a seven year old.
Is there any chance that someone has done something...inappropriate to her? Pulling her pants down in front of boys...that's pretty unusual...not something a seven year old girl would think up on her own.
Make sure that she is safe, not being harmed in any way.

Do you punish her? Because you should. She seems somewhat spoiled, but in the sense that she isn't told right from wrong (no offense on anyone's parenting skills). She's probably just going through a phase. Sadly, she sounds alot like me when I was her age. She'll grow out of it (took me till I was 10).

It's all about getting attention, and so far it seems that she's getting attention for all the wrong reasons. What she needs is to start getting attention for things that she should be proud of. You and her parents are the ones to give it.

My goodness, 7 year olds are unruly sometimes, my seven year old is nosy and bold!! What do we do with them??!! I `m trying to be consistent and fair when disciplining him. I usually send him to his room, when I am calm, then I go in and tell him what he did wrong..

Time to start spanking her butt for lying and tell her she will get DOUBLE if you find out she lied. Then you tell her you love her, but you will not tolerate her lying and bad behavior. Then suggest counseling before she hits puberty.
