A combination of different factors can conspire to form dark circles: aging, sun damage, heredity, allergies, and even poor lighting.
Probably the only fat you don't want to loose lies right under your eye and above the cheekbone, called the infra orbital fat pad. It thins with age, producing a sunken appearance. Light reflects off this recessed area, creating the illusion of shadowy circles. (Contrary to popular believe, most dark circles have nothing to do with actual changes in skin color.)
Because of aging and sun damage (with some genetic tenancy thrown in for good measure) microscopic blood vessels under the eyes can lose their stability and strength. The body compensates by forming lots of tiny new veins. A thinner fat pad means those veins are closer to the skin's surface. The result: darker dark circles.
A couple of quick fixes:
apply moist cool tea bags (caffeinated, like Earl Grey or English breakfast) is a quick fix for puffiness. the tannins in the tea decrease the inflammation, reduce swelling. The caffeine draws water from the skin deflating puffiness.
another fix is cool cucumbers. Enzymes in the cucumber slices reduce the tissue inflammation, shrinking bags and helping erase unbecoming shadows.
These are great appearance enhancers for when you need to look your best. They're temporary, but they work!
The best bet is to conceal with makeup... Yellow neutralizes blues, purples, and dusky hues on the skin.
And treat antioxidants stimulate the activity of fibroblasts cells in the dermis that help create skin strengthening collagen. This firms and tones the area. The best fibroblast-stimulating antioxidants include Vitamin C, and GHK copper peptides.

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

well they could be caused due to a lack of vitamins/minerals, or an unbalanced diet. Or maybe most importantly stress, tension, or even lack of sleep. Well I have a way for you to heal them. What you can do is get thin cucumber slices and place them under your eyes(dark circle area), and leave them there for about 15min. (by the way you can just cut the cucumber into thin slices, sorry if I confused you).
And you should do that every second day, till you get your desired results. So best of luck, and hope you get rid of those dark circles. (=_=)

Dark circles appear for a multitude of reasons, including genetics. They can be from a vitamin deficiency, lack of sleep, thinning of the delicate skin under your eyes, etc.
Drink plenty of water, try to get uninterrupted rest (no caffeine after 2pm) and keep up with your vitamins (fruits, antioxidants, etc.).
If all else fails, get a good eye cream. I have dark circles naturally, and have tried a few eye creams. I like:
Intuit Beauty's Immortal Eyes (www.lovethyskin.com)
Jan Marini's Factor-A for eyes (www.janmarini.com)
Hylexin for Dark Circles (www.hylexin.com)
Hope that helps...

usually lack of quality rest and stress. Easy fix: make a pitcher of ice tea, then take two of the used tea bags and place them in cold cold water for 5 minutes. Then, lay back, place a tea bag over each eye, swig some ice tea and relax for a half hour.

well those circles are because u r tired or stressed, or because u have been getting very few hours of sleep. i have heard some solutions to that problem (dont know if they work though): put milk on them and sleep like that. also, u can put very cold spoons on the circles, and supposedly that will make them disappear. get more sleep! and if u still have them, u can use concealer to hide them. good luck! :)
