I was reading that tonight on ESPN, 9et/8ct.. They will be airing a show called "Hottest Rivalries", showcasing the top 25 NASCAR Rivalries. Should be quite an entertaining show! There have been so many great NASCAR rivalries, That I could go on, and on, and on probably about some of the best. But I won't do that, yet..

So before this airs tonight, What's your Top-3 Favorite All-Time NASCAR Rivalries?

All time:
1) David Pearson vs. Richard Petty.
2) Dale Earnhardt Sr. vs. Jeff Gordon
3) Rusty Wallace vs. Darrell Waltrip
Current: Jeff Gordon vs. Jimmie Johnson (I know they are teammates but if you don't think they both want to be the top dog you must not have seen Martinsville this year).
Thanks for the heads up on the ESPN show.

It ended up being Petty vs. Bobby Allison according to the ESPN show, Pearson/Petty was 2nd on their list.

They have played this before so its just a repeat of the original show they played. I think that a great rivalry would be between Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. I mean people think that Sr. and Gordon had this rivalry but they didnt, it was just them putting on a show for you at the track. I will have to rewatch the show, as it's been so long I forgot who the rivalries were. I think that Tony has alot of enemies though, so that should be interesting.

Dale Sr. and Jeff Gordon. An up and coming rivalry to watch is Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. Teammates or not, these guys are two of the most competitive drivers in NASCAR as well as two of it's best drivers.

Pearson-Petty has to be the all-time longest rivalry.

But as far as the most intense and heated rivalry fueled by a mutual strong dislike and lack of respect has to be Earnhardt-G. Bodine.

They couldn't stand one another and anytime they were near each other, something was bound to happen and usually not good for Bodine.

I'm happy to hear about this show as I'm a relative newbie to Nascar and don't know the old rivalries. I would assume Darryl Waltrip and Dale Sr. were involved in many of them as most champions have rivalries. Thanks for mentioning this program!
