Which do you prefer? Restaurant or a home cooked meal? What's your fav home cooked food, and favorite at a restaurant? For myself, nothing beats a good home cooked meal. Steaks, or hamburgers are better at home...you can prepare them as you like, for burgers you can make 'em as big & greasy as you want !! ... Restaurants are good for their atmosphere, and when you wanna relax and not worry about cooking. I like authentic Italian or German food when eating out.

It depends on what I'm in the mood for. Sometimes I get a really big craving for meat or something, and then I definitely need to go out and get a steak or a burger (not fast food). Sometimes I just wanna relax at home and I'll pop in a Hot Pocket or some Campbell's soup. I usually don't cook things at home because I'm often the only one eating them, so I don't usually cook some huge steak just for myself. I do like to make myself all sorts of pasta, though, even if it's just ramen when I'm in a hurry (does ramen count as pasta?).
My exgirlfriend/best friend and I go out to eat a few times a week... usually because we're bored. We like Taco Bell if we want something quick, and if we're in the mood to sit down and eat we'll go someplace like Bill Bateman's (they have a great BLT) or Red Robin (we LOVE their burgers).
I'm also a huge fan of cookouts... I love when we get together with the extended family and grill burgers and hot dogs. We live in Maryland, so we often have crabs as well... the best part about crabs is catching them, though. They make a HUGE mess to eat.

My favorite home cooked meal is County Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and cream gravy. I also love Mexican food, for that I prefer to go out. We have a little family run mexican restaurant here that is basically just a hole in the wall and I love eating there. It's more authentic.
I do enjoy eating out though because you don't have to cook or clean.

Home cooked all the way home! lol TLC, & knowing what I am cooking with the freshest & finest ingredients, no worry about food poisoning or servers dining out that don't wash their hands, & cooks that use the crappiest of ingredients...you get the point. Btw, home cooked meals I'm talking about never consists of using processed foods, like mac 'n cheese out of a box...NO way Jose! LOL ALL is cooked from scratch & you can taste the difference.

Luv to go out for a meal - but can't afford it.
Cooking a meal is homely -depends on the time you have and your needs.
Time of season is also a good thing to look at - summer salads, winter soups, easter drinks and dropping rhum and salsa's.
Some foods you can eat all year round but then you'd be as round as the food you eat!
Be adaptable - fold it and have a take out!

A home-cooked meal is always nice. My favorite meal is spaghetti and meatballs. I always love a good burger when dining out.

I like eating at home. DH is a gourmet cook and can make a fantastic dinner in 20 minutes. One of my favourites is bouillabaisse, which usually takes a long time to prepare. DH makes it with a prepacked frozen fish mix from Trader Joe's. (My specialty? None...I always ruin *hot dogs* LOL! I get to do the dishes.)
When we go out, we love a wonderful local sushi bar which has half price sushi from 5-7PM on Sundays through Thursdays. With our sushi choices, a Sapporo for DH and "iced tea with no ice" for me plus a tip, we can get out with spending only $20.00.
Not bad, eh?

I prefer to stay at home and eat as well. I dont mind going out for some of the harder to make meals that would cost more money to make at home though (for example- greek foods, mexican with margarita's) things that your always going to need the extra's for here and there.

Dining out..... because the person who cooked the home cooked meal might have been a bad cooker.
