Is there something I can connect to my LCD flip-down to stop the lines and grain from looking bad. When I stop the car, the LCD looks good but when I start up again, it gets lines and grain.

I have seen that alot in some screens. If it is a low quality screen there is nothing you can do about it.
The first thing I would try is a filter on the power wire such as this:

sounds like you have a grounding problem in your wiring harness, probably in the engine. very hard to diagnose, but possible. first I cannot stress the safety issue involved when doing the following advise! do not where loose jewelry! do not have long hair anywhere around an engine, running or not! as the engine is running, have someone easily jiggle the battery cables and wire in the running engine, DO NOT TOUCH THE SPARK PLUG WIRES! if the screen gets better, stop the motor, this will let the wire inspector person know to stop looking. mark the area or wires that you both feel were the ones that effected the screen. take it down to a local auto parts store. be nice and have the store attendant check those wires while the engine is running, you checking the screen. if you can at least narrow it down, you will save over 200.00 in shop labor time. good luck.

I would suggest buying a power line noise filter from Radio Shack and installing it on your monitor's power wire. Many mobile video systems have inadequate noise filtering.

Sounds like a grounding issue with the power source. check all your grounds. be sure they are on bare metal. Maybe you need to sand the contact area to get a better connection.
