I have a better idea. Get that kitten to the vet before it dies on you. If it is not eating, then it is probably ill. The longer you putz around trying to bribe it, the longer before your kitten gets the care it needs. It could be a serious problem! If not, then better safe than sorry. Get thee to the vet!

Dear Six Weeks-

Whoa, stop!

The kitten is still a touch too young for a mature meal like tuna. I work with a breeder in my off time.

Go to the pet store and get some of the canned kitten food. We use Feline Wellness, Kitten Formula.

Place about 1/4 of the can into a small dish and add evaporated milk until you have a thick slurry of milk and the kitten food. You are going to need to get a fork to mix this mess up. The consistancy should be that of gravy.

Put the bowl on the floor and let the kitten have that.

Feeding Tuna with a kitten that young will give them diarreah and cause them do dehydrate. That is a good way to send that kitten straight to the vet.

Their digestive tract is not prepared for that yet, and eventhough your intentions may be noble and kind, you could do more damage than good.

But if its not eating at all, the kitten may have another issue. If it does not eat what I have suggested, then you need to contact a vet immediately and have the kitten examined.

If the kitten eats, then make sure that you place clean fresh water near the food source and monitor the kitten during the meal time. If the food is not finished and this kitten is done eating, place the un-used portion in a ziplock bag or tupperware and put it in fridge with the other food. Just keep the water down for it.

Do not be suprised if that kitten takes a long nap after that meal. But then be prepared for fully charged batteries later.

Good Luck!

Taking the kitten to the vet would be best. But until you get it to one, go buy some vitamin and mineral spray for cats and kittens. The brand is called PET AUTHORITY. You can get it from Petsmart, petco, and probably Wal-mart. It's got a pink label with a white/striped cat on the front of it. You spray it on your kittens normal food and it usually gets cats and kittens to eat. And with that kitten sounding like it's sick anyways, it could probably use some extra vitamins. DO NOT GIVE IT TUNA!!!! It will give the kitten severe diarrhea, which can kill a kitten. If you want to give it some kind of people food, give it chicken flavored baby food. Make sure it does NOT have Onions in it, cause onions are poisonous to cats. Just warm is up a bit, and maybe even spray some of that vitamin spray on it. See if it'll work.

Yes. Go ahead and try tuna. Remember that at this age, the kitten will probably walk in its food, so you may have to wash it off a bit after it eats, but most cats regardless of their issues will eat tuna.

That's kind of little for tuna. Try some cat milk from a pet supply store.

Itty Bitty at four weeks wouldn't eat until I turned his food in a pile of goo. (i didn't know he was four weeks at the time, I'd been told he was six weeks)
Anyway, a lot of water and a little kitten chow and a little canned cat milk practically liquified was what he'd eat.

No just go out and get a mini watergun, fill it with milk and squirt it in its mouth. It should not eat more than three. Do this three times a day until it is about 8 weeks old. Good luck

He should barely be off his momma. Try milk in some soft food. He/She can lap up the milk and practice on the food. But, no I would not try tuna alone yet.
