If your country was invaded what would you do. Would you pick up a gun? If you could not join the military for some reason would you fight them anyways? Would you sit back and hope for the best? Would you join the other side? Just finished watching Red Dawn and just curious.

Don't get me wrong I am not trying to make some kind of comparison to iraq or something. I am just curious, nothing else. Heck, if my country was invade I would kill every last one of them.

Depends on who is invading... I am Polish... but i live in Maimi, so if Poland or the EU were to invade the USA... Hell I would dawn my Polish BDU and help them invade the USA... But now if someone else were to invade the USA I would fight back and form an underground.... Sorry but Europe is my first home... USA comes second..... Anyone else can get a piece of lead to the face...

As a former Marine, I think you know the answer Im going to give. Red Dawn was an interesting movie, and if you watch it again you can see the interesting sub-plots with the characters as far as how different people react in time to the situation around them. I did however find it very interesting that these kids who had no military experience were able to take out elite Russian and Cuban units. I think the director was taking a stab at trying to show us that we are even as civilians better than these other countries soldiers. Yet if you look at the war in Iraq our soldiers are being killed by civilian insurgents. Pretty ironic to say the least. But to answer your question, I would open up a serious can of kick ***!!! totally and absolutely would defend either the the country I now live in [USA] by choice or my home country of birth which is the UK..........and we are already armed and ready if need be..............
the only time that a HUGE conflict of interests would be, is IF the UK invaded the USA but if that ever came about then pretty much the whole world would be melting and I would just be defending my family and home...........
I would also be interested as to how many of the people who live here but are not US citizens on which side of the fence THEY would fall..................for instance ONLY what if Mexico invaded the USA how would that work out for all the mexicans already here or if Canada did the same.........

It really is not that simple. My country is BEING INVADED at the moment by millions of illegals. People refuse to call a spade a spade; an invasion is an invasion, even though Liberals say that it is just a case of "poor people" trying to support their families back home.
By fleeing to the States, Mexicans are making Mexicor poorer and poorer; their economy is weakening, their culture, every thing worsening because they do not have the faith or courage to try to improve things themselves.
As to your ARMED invasion, I am too old to join the military; but, hey, I am part Indian and if given even a tiny bit of a chance, I woud make them suffer like they can't imagine.

It depends. If the country was being invaded by hostile forces, I would get a gun and become an insurgent or patriot or whatever you want to call it.
It my country was under a tyrannical regime and needed to be helped out, I would not fight the people coming in to occupy and assist in creating a new government.

Thats a tough one. It would depend on whos the one invading. But what i can be sure of, Is that if I was in Russia (Im Russian) in 1941, I would DEFENATLY take up a gun and go kill the Nazis. Not just because they invaded us, not just that they lied to us, but also that my family is Jewish.

I would probably get to my friends house, who has guns and sit back. Did you like the Red Dawn? I thought it was a pretty good movie. The actor was not anything special, but the storyline was really good.

Red Dawn is a great Movie and I would be one who would grab a gun. I have 2 children An I will protect them at all cost.

Depends who was doing the invading! Most of the time I suspect I'd just make sure I was sufficiently secure and then wait and see what happened.
