Join choir in school. Join the band, too. You'll do better if you can play an instrument also.

Take private lessons if you can afford to do so. Even professional athletes have coaches that help them learn nuances, and correct bad habits that they pick up. If you think you're good now, think how good you can be with a coach.

Try out for the school plays. Don't worry if you don't get a singing part, or even a big part. Everyone starts out with small parts, and works their way up.

Practice, practice, practice.

Then practice some more. Practice all sorts of different music - rock, C&W, classical, opera, broadway, folk, everything. You don't want to be a one-trick pony, you want to be an accomplished professional with a broad range of knowledge in your craft.

First off, let me say that's a very good question. I am 16, and I am a pretty good singer, the thing is I have dropped out of choir because in high school, you're limited in what you can do. If you can't join choir for whatever reason, join a local group. I'm sure in your town there is some kind of local choir group you can join. Always practice, and try to go in talent shows. There is always someone looking out there, so never be afraid to sing in public.

Yes. If you really want to be a singer for your whole life, go for it. Get out there and get discovered. But usually people like discovering kids in 13 or 14 age.

Yes, definitely continue to sing. Also, if your school provides it, take singing/ voice lessons and choir. It may not be that much fun learning techniques or something, but if you really want to sing, go for it. If your school divides its choirs by level of performance, go for the top group. If you are determined, you will shine.

So,
What you first want to do, is get into several chiors to start with church chior, school, what ever. Then, you want the directors and anyone that involves you singing, and get them to write you up with your good tasks in singing. After that, you personally make a write up in the news paper, advertising you, and your talents.
Good luck!

KATIE,
ADVERTISE ON BOARDS AT GROCERY STORES, NEWSPAPERS, RADIO AND TV STATIONS, CHURCHES, THAT YOU WILL SING FOR THEM FOR A NOMINAL FEE OR FOR FREE
MAKE SOME DEMO TAPES AND .SEND THEM OR BETTER YET TAKE THEM TO THE RADIO STATION AND TALK TO THE MANAGER TO PLAY ON HIS STATION. ALL IT TAKES IS FOR A SONG TO BE PLAYED ONCE FOR ATTENTION. THE STATION WILL GET CALLS IF YOU ARE GOOD.

GO TO THE CHRISTIAN RADIO OR TV STATIONS AND GIVE THEM A DEMO AS WELL.

DID YOU KNOW ELVIS PRESLEY FIRST SANG IN CHURCHES? THAT IS WHY HIS VOICE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL AND DIFFERENT. HE HAD A BLESSING ON HIS VOICE. A LOT OF OUR FAMOUS SINGERS STARTED IN A CHURCH...AT A YOUNG AGE.

DO NOT LET YOUR AGE STOP YOU.

THERE ARE A LOT OF PLACES YOU CAN GET AN AUDITION IF YOU WILL SEARCH ON THE INTERNET.

IF YOU HAVE A FAVORITE SINGER WRITE TO HER/HIM AND TELL THEM YOU WOULD LIKE THEIR OPINION AND HELP. YOU CAN GET THEIR ADDRESS ON THE INTERNET.

ENLIST HELP FROM YOUR MUSIC TEACHER OR GET YOURSELF A PR AGENT..

BLESSINGS!

if you're in choir, great. if not, you should definitely join and stick with it till high school. high school choir teachers are very helpful and passionate about what they do, and if you ask them they will definitely help you pursue your singing/music career. also, after high school, you can transfer to a college that is acclaimed for its choir. i just love choir. hehe
