The M stands for Mr or Mrs, just a place to write their names so you know how to spell them on the table cards. :P that way they can out what they prefer to be called and you are not ASSUMING who is coming.

It is a space for the name of the person responding. They start with the M and then leave the rest blank so people can fill in Mr. or Miss or Mrs. and their name.

Mr. or Mrs. or Ms. depending on the recipients title. Fill in your title preference and your name or just your name. I think it is very generous of the bride and groom to let you bring X amount of people instead of just one companion.

You would complete the word Miss, Mr, or Mrs. and write your name or the couples name who are attending.

It's the beginning of Mr., Mrs. or Ms. You fill in the blank with the rest of this, along with your name(s).

The M means mr. or mrs. or ms. It also means that only you and/or your husband are invited, not your children, unless the invite specifically mentions them by name on the inner envelope or the outer envelope says and family.

I think it means you are supposed to fill in Mr. or Mrs. or Ms. and then your name so they know who it is from.
