This is response to this answer on my other question for if evolution and Christianity can somehow tie in.

Let's see in Genesis 1: 23-25 - God created all the animals and then in Genesis 1:26 - God created man in his own image, so I would have to say that the monkeys were CREATED first and then man was CREATED.... then the animals were brought to Adam for him to name in Genesis 2.

Actually, in both places it says that monkeys came first.

Except for a very few sects, the creation account in Gen 2 is considered to be an expounding of the creation account found in Gen 1. The wording most definitely suggests this, especially verse 2:4.

Some Nazi-types like to say that this second account is an additional creation of "good" man, usually claiming that this was the creation of the white "race" and that the previous creation was of the "lesser" races. Clearly, it's not hard for someone to interpret the bible in a way that supports their pre-established beliefs.

Monkeys came first then Adam, yet they were created on day six.
Genesis 2:19.
King James
And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air;
and God brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them.

This is just my opinion,
It looks as if Moses (The author of Genesis) was just saying that the animals were formed from the ground and later they were sent to Adam.
Remember that birds were created on day 5. Moses wrote that in verse1: 20-23

You must not question evolution EVER. If you question it in any way you WILL be deemed an ignorant. Don't even mention it here in Y!A. Evolution is the law, evolution is everything, evolution is my life. You don't have the authorithy to say anything about evolution. If you are not accepting evolution as the one and only truth it must be because you never even been to a science class in high school.

Ahhhh. sarcasm feels so good. (sorry darling, i didn't even read the detais of your question, i just neded to let this out. I'm an evolutionist by the way)

I'm going with monkeys. If the majority of scientists think that is what happened, then it is ok by me. I'm no biologist. I think a lot of people would make their lives a lot better if they took the advice of Galileo: use the Bible as the spiritual guide it was meant to be, and not as a science textbook. You don't go looking in the American Constitution for advice on fixing a car, and you don't read Dr. Seuss books for advice on deep-sea diving. Why would you read the Bible to try to figure out a biology question?

The absence of fossils to support the theory of evolution causes evolutionists to resort to window-dressing. They draw totally imaginary creatures that have never existed and use these illustrations as a propaganda tool. They draw an apechanging in stages into man, There is no fossil record indicating that the half-man half-ape creatures in these drawings ever existed. These drawings are intended to mislead people who have limited knowledge on the subject

Look... Genesis is an account of the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of an ignorant gaggle of Bronze Age fishermen and wandering goat herders. It does not describe the universe, and how it came to be... it describes what they THOUGHT the universe was like, and how they THOUGHT it came to be. There is no 'metaphor'... no 'allegory'... it is just WRONG.

Advice...

Do not consult religionists for information about science.

Both humans and monkeys are DISTANT branches on a family tree that began more than a million years ago with a simple primate.

If you want to get closer to humans, try "apes". Apes are not monkeys (Bio 101 for ya there), and are more closely related to humans.

Both shared a common ancestor. With or without Genesis.
