Have you ever wondered why TV evangelists seem to have problems?

I guess it could be that they are under so much pressure from the world since everyone knows who they are! But some of them have fallen grealty! And its disturbing to me because it kinda does damage to the reputation of others even though they had nothing to do with it. Not all evengelists are the same! There are some true warriors out there who will do anything for God and help others. Some forget that we are human beings and human beings make mistakes! Sometimes very costly ones! But is it being under the spotlight that makes it more difficult? Of course secrets cannot be kept forever! If Someone has a problem with adultery or lust it does not take long for that to be exposed!

I think it's all about power and money. The are not all the same. Do some research on Rick Warren - he doesn't even draw a salary from his church.

Hindsight is often easier to see than the actual moment.

This is what I can see and learn from those whom have fallen and even from those about to fall.

They start out on fire for God, and the ministry works wonderfully, and it grows and grows, often faster than they ever even dreamed it would.

Then comes the board members and controllers of money and scheduling. The evangelist is treated as royalty by those in control of the ministry because the evangelist is now the way these people make their living. They need the evangelist to do well, they need for him to be happy with them.

Eventually this evangelist begins to believe his own importance and forgets or at least puts Gods importance on a back burner, except when out on stage.

This hyped up self importance given to him by others and eventually believed by himself is what leads to the fall, they begin to believe that they deserve that huge house and that jet. Those expensive cars are important and safer to protect their important selves.

God wants them to do extra well and have better stuff than the people that support the ministry. They are important after all, it couldnt be done without them.

That is a wonderful description and one very fitting. I believe you've answered your own question there actually. I would like to add too that sometimes they have problems because once they make it "big" for lack of better wording, they get high headed and forget the true purpose is winning souls for the kingdom instead they get wrapped up in promoting themselves instead of promoting God.

It's funny how we are commanded to sell our posessions and help the less fortunate but then again these tv evangelists are living in multi million dollar homes. It is easier for a camel to pass thru the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven. It's a shame, but to 99.9% of these evangelists, it is nothing more than a business. Soo sad.
