now this is an interesting question. I myself am a christian, but I will be as fair as possible. I would probably lean toward this being a completely individual assessment type problem in which some believers and nonbelievers are arrogant, and some are not, but if I had to stereotype the two groups and their form of arrogance I would say christians can appear to be arrogant because many of them answer questions very unsatisfactory not acknowledging the depth and importance of the subject of God. They give little bow tie answers that many times mean nothing and i feel this is arrogant because it insults people who truly care and it shows a lack of integrity. Atheists, however are guilty in general as well. They come off condescending a lot of the time. Einstein who was a "deist" according to Time magazine stated, -the difference between me and most "so called" atheist is that I am humbled and awed by the complete harmony of the cosmos-he went on to say that he didn't like atheist using him to their benefit because he was not an atheist. Anyway I think atheist come off angry and almost war like in this debate. They accuse christianity of being a religion of hostility and hate, however they many times come off very cold and hostile and compassionless. A true christian would always care about an atheist or anyone else for that matter, while an atheist does not seem to have any use for anyone who doesn't believe the way they do. I believe they are arrogant because they are not humble in communication and are not humble to the great harmony of the cosmos.

There are a lot of arrogant people on here. But I don't think you can narrow them down to the most in one group, because it would have to be done in %. I think that the groups with the highest % of participants seem to have more arrogant people but you must remember, it is often just the most arrogant that yell the loudest!

I think it would be arrogant of me to pick out a group of people and label them the "most ignorant."

My life experience has shown those who have the least to be arrogant about are the most arrogant. Once one has achieved a certain amount of wisdom, they begin to quiet themselves.

It's not groups...it's individual people. Arrogance is the presumption that one is absolutely right about everything that one believes. It's also the presumption that everyone else is blind or resistant when they don't believe as you do. Why is this necessary? Why can't people just be happy in their own faith and allow that privilege to others?

All of them...anyone who argues that they are "right" is about as arrogant as they come...We were not around in the beginning, which ever way you believe it began, therefore we cannot say with "proof" that one way is right or the the other is right...

We can hold our opinion on the matter...and we can hold the evidence we choose to believe, but we cannot claim to be right...

Now, I'll get off my soap box and go have a beer and watch everyone else argue about it! LMAO!!!

Arrogant - exaggerating or disposed to exaggerate one's own worth or importance often by an overbearing manner.

I would say alittle bit of bot religious and non-religious. I constantly see non-believers condemning Christians for saying their going to Hell, but I have hardly seen anyone on here damn someone.

Also, some non-believers are always being negative towards the believers saying things like "God isn't real....blah blah blah"

But of course, there are the over powering Christians on here who are constantly preaching, I may be one, I may not be.

But of course the true definition of a word lies with the individual. I may think one person is very arrogant, but my brother might not think so and vice versa.
