Where i live there is a trend of bar code tattoos on your neck... with your date of birth.
Can someone please explain why people get this? i think it's so weird and pointless....
Also the tattoos with the area code from where you live...What's the point of that? So they can ship you back in case you get lost or something?

that is called a fad tattoo. it's something that is popular for a while and then loses it's appeal and goes away. i remember when i was in high school people were getting those. VERY lame if you ask me.

My guess is they were to symbolize that we are all the same. mass produced synthetic personalities.

Supposedly, the area code is a gang symbol, and the bar code is a mass personality/loss of individuality

it is just a trend .. my friend has on.. but hers is for her gramp.. the day he was born and died...they get it becuase they like it thats all.. im pretty sure it was in some movie too
