I dont really know what "That Pauline Christianity is the most misguided "Abrahamic" religion in history." means but as a non-denominational christian I will never accept gay marriage. For the simple fact that God specifically states in the Bible that homosexuality is wrong.
NKJV: (New King James Version) "If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them." 20:13
Now I have friends who are gay and I dont hate them I simply hate the sin not the sinner. For I am not perfect. No one is.

>"Evolution doesn't jive with Genesis." True, but only if you take the the Bible literally word for word. Most theologians and Bible scholars don't, and never have. The hardcore literal interpretations have only been accepted since the mid 19th Century by American protestants that were the forefathers of today's evangelical fundamentalists. The same brood that perpetuated John Nelson Darby's lie about the rapture, end times prophecy and dispensationalism. Most mainstream Protestants and Catholics reject this nonsense. >"the gay lifestyle likewise" True, but unless you favor theocracy over the American principles of democracy, you will accept the legality of certain sinful lifestyles in the name of Liberty. The Founders were very clear on this issue. If you study the Constitution, gay marriage bans are in violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. You can morally oppose gay marriage from a religious perspective as many Christians do, but you can't oppose it legally with out opposing true liberty as our Founders viewed it. You would indeed be anti-American.

Real Christianity will never accept gay marriage because it is an abomination in the sight of God. I am sure your words are
based on your superficial knowledge of scripture or your total lack thereof.
When you repent of your sin with genuine sorrow for your condition as an offense to God you will get some real light on the subject, and then you will see that Paul was smarter than you and knew what he was talking about. You forgot or never learned the most important thing about scriptural interpretation which is to take all scriptures on any given subject and compare them before spouting off your opinion. If you took the scriptures in the Old Testament and the New Testament together and then studied them in the original languages you would either live in denial of what they teach or repent of you arrogant statement.
Read II Timothy 3:16 to begin your quest for genuine knowledge and perhaps God will graciously allow you to wake from your slumber and see reality.

The general culture in the West, especially Europe is favourable to the idea of gay marriage. There is a kind of civil partnership of that sort available in the UK.
Homosexuality is declared a sin in the Old and New Testaments. However the New Testament is not a political system, but is God's grace being preached.
So Jesus would certainly forbid our stoning people or anything extreme ... stoning or unfairness is not loving one's neighbour.
Your connecting slack morality with regard to the homosexuality issue with Paul is wrong though. He says in several places in his letters that its wrong, whereas the writings of John do not mention the issue at all (although he is firm on moral standards of course). But Paul does say we get saved by putting faith in Christ - not by imposing external laws on people against homosexuality or whatever. The Christian faith is not one to command by force behaviour on society as a whole, although it maintains moral teaching that can enlighten those making laws. We are saved because of Christ's sacrifice. Once God is in our lives, He renews us internally, not by external rules imposed, but by us recognising right behaviour as right behaviour and following it. Anyone who is honest will admit they have done wrong things - hence the need for salvation to come into relationship with an utterly pure God. Homosexuality is just one of many sins. To God, men are sinners who need forgiveness and salvation. Those who believe in Christ receive this salvation as a gift - the Holy Spirit transforming us.

When Christianity accepts gay marriage, it will be proof that the apostasy of the church has set in, and that the Lord is coming VERY soon.

When Christianity finally accepts gay marriage, the Earth will stop rotating in orbit and spin uncontrollably into the Sun. In other words, you are asking them to give up one of their longest held, deepest seated prejudices. But, it would be interesting to see.

I hope and pray that we have enough strength to keep up our vigil against this sin. It just shows you what a godless world we live in. Until then my Christian brothers and sisters, keep living for the Lord.
