As when any other type of relationship ends, you give it Time (cliche' but true). You'll be fine eventually...probably fairly quickly if you think about how crummy you were treated. Hard to harbor positive feelings for someone who's actually a snake.

I'm sorry you have a betrayal like this. Be thankful that you're not the OTHER woman i.e the poor unfortunate clueless wife.
Think of any signs or signals he gave and now you look back and realize why. If you ever see this in the futurem you now know better.
Take a small vacation with your friends, have some time for you, cry, laugh and you will heal.
Can you talk to anybody about this?

Did you end this affair when you found out you where the other woman or did you hope he would choose you over the other one? If you ended it right away, you did the right thing. I know it feels terrible to be lied to for so long, but you can hold your head up high and move on knowing you did not deliberately set out to hurt anyone. You will meet someone that will treat you nice, but watch out you don't go back to the same kind of guy.

You will have to go through the normal break up crap. You'll hurt and be sad for a while. You'll get angry and lonely. Spend time with your friends and family. Give yourself at least 6 months before you try dating again. You need some healing time. If you are having really tough time with it go see a personal counselor. They help a lot.

I was the "other woman" and we broke it off, and now we have been married for 7 years. But when we broke it off, I took care and focused on me and what was important to me (and my kids) thank God I hadn't introduced them to him. Anyway, he ended up leaving her because it wasn't working anyway but 2 years, wow....you didn't know he was married? there were no signs?? If I were in your shoes, I would forget men for a while and focus on a new hobby or work or something that made me happy! You'll be ok, it just takes time!

Don't speak to him again. No matter how hurt you are, think of his poor wife.
Go on and get on with your life. Find some new friends, some new men to date, and put this behind you as quickly as possible. And do everything you can to make sure this doesn't happen to you again!
Good luck.

Why don't you try one of those all female retreats?
None come to mind, but you could probably use some sisterly bonding.
