The jw's are a cult. They cant stand people challenging there ways either because they dont know how to defend them because they are false. They would rather have the question deleted and run.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not claim to be inspired prophets. They have made mistakes.Like the apostles of Jesus Christ, they have at times had some wrong expectations
.Luke19:11;Acts.1:6
I guess your question must have been somewhat derogatory in nature.I really dont see your logic.Because we love our God,Jehovah and are loyal to him,we defend him especially if he or his name is being slandered. How on earth does that make us a cult???Do you even know what a cult is??
Your question obviously deserved being deleted - learn a lesson.

I am a JW and Level 4 on Yahoo and don't know how to do that. Don't care to learn either. How would you know who did that? I don't think there would be trails.
"1975 failure"? No JW every claimed to be perfect except Jesus. We all make mistakes. Did something happen in 1975? Possibly. It takes history and looking back to determine what of significance happened. Was it what everyone expected? No. Then again, man is such a lousy judge of what is to come. That is why we rely on the Bible.

What was the 1975 failure?
It doesn't prove that they're a cult, it just proves that they don't have any good arguments and would rather shine a bad light on you than air their dirty laundry.
If I were you, I'd wait until I had one of them in person and ask them then, when your points are not at risk!

JWs reporting people would surprise me. they don't report critical things that happen in the membership and should be reported to secular authorities but then again who knows it is only words and yahoo is a secular organization.

If your allegation is true, how can you get away with asking the same question again?
I think it is likely your story is not accurate.
Sorry but I can not speak for the Jehovah's Witnesses. I'd answer the question for you if I knew the answer. They are an honorable group with strict rules and standards I cannot follow. I can attest to the fact that they will not tolerate blatant and repeated hypocrisy among their members. More religious groups should follow their example. I disagree with them on some religious issues but they are not a cult by the typical definition.

Same reason that Islam reports you for asking legitmate questions, like how could a "prophet" of God be addicted to sex (condoned by Allah, and the relationship with a 9 year old girl no less and his dozen other wives)... these cults don't want to be exposed for what they are

The 1975 "failure" is a common topic brought up by JW bashers. In fact, the Watchtower Organization (source/controller of JW teachings) was aware that many JWs believed the "end of the world" would occur in 1975. They warned members (in print!) *prior* to 1975 that this was *not* expected to happen and that they should *not* believe that the *possible* end of the "Godly week" in 1975 was a prophecy of the end of the world.
I am not a JW, but I have read this publication myself. Many JWs believed that 1975 was supposed to be the "end", and many JWs left their church in 1976, probably because they were 1975-believing JWs.
In fact, the *official* teaching of the JWs was that no such event was expected to occur in 1975, and that prophecy did not point to such an event occurring in that year.

If we were deleting such questions at will... why would this question still be here?
The "1975 failure" wasn't the society. Some people speculated strongly where they shouldn't have, and it became widespread.... however the society wasn't behind this.
You don't get reported for asking legitimate questions, though you can for being insulting... and classifying a valid religion as a cult is. It's roughly equivalent to saying "Why do minorities report you for asking legitimate questions? It proves them to be the (insert racial slur here) they are."

www.watchtower.ORG or www.jw-media.ORG....educate yourself about Jehovah's Witnesses....then educate yourself about what a cult is...and 1975 failure?LOL...many JWs thought that Armageddon was to start occuring in that year however when it didn't come many left the organization...however those that really thought it was coming that year did not put their full trust in Jehovah God and obviously got led by APOSTATES and where weak in their faith...there is NOWHERE in the Bible with a specific date for Armageddon to take place or for even how long...we have only signs that lead up to that...Matthew 24, Luke 21, 1 Timothy 3:1-5...etc....so when it didn't come many left...that is why we all need to build our faith on a solid foundation...and for the record...we don't put our trust in man or follow humans...we let God's Word, the Bible guide us...

I saw a video clip on that! It showed ex-Jehovah's Witnesses who were told by the elders to not go to work, school, and college and to sell everything. The people lost their wholes lives because 1975 was the end.
God bless you. :-)
