Diet sodas contain Phenylalanine body has a hard time processing it. Best thing on a diet is water not juice, juice has simple sugars which can store as fat. also water is a natural diuretic and aides in weight loss. Heres an idea drink a bottle of water if you still fell like having the diet soda after drink it just dont drink a ton of diet soda. The body doesn't understand how to proccess diet soda and pees it out so it doesn,t store as fat, flovered waters work the same way.

If they keep you from drinking regular soda, they're a good idea. But I've heard they keep your body craving sweets, which might pull you to sabatoge your diet by eating other things with sugar. Juice has a lot of calories so I'd stick to the water, but if you need a sweet fix a diet soda's a good bet.

Well, if you were drinking regular soda, and switch to diet, then you are reducing your caloric intake.
In my personal situation, I love Diet Pepsi. I always heard that caffeine makes you crave food and I found that it does. So, I try to cut a lot of it out. I also found that it makes my stomach bloat and makes me retain water.
Fact is, you should be drinking more water than soda. Some juices have a lot of calories, make sure you watch that.
I started a diet, but I still drink my diet pepsi, I just limit myself to how many I drink and make sure I match that with bottles of water.

Juice is bad. It has so much natural sugar/high fructose corn syrup, etc that you will not be dropping the weight. Water is always the most preferred source of hydration as soda dehydrates you, but I drink D. Soda and am still losing weight.

You want to drink water - juice has an absurd amount of calories in it! (140 for 6 oz in many cases!)
The carbonation and artifical sweeteners in diet soda can cause bloating, and they can make you crave sweets even more, but one here and there isn't going to kill you.

Many experts state that diet soda might slow down your metabolism making harder for you to lose weight. Water is always the best source and its hard to substitute water for soda but it becomes easier as time passes.

Yes- asparthame (the ingrediant in diet sodas) often make you crave food so it's kind of defeating its "diet" purpose.
