Peter was not the "rock". Peter's CONFESSION was the rock. Peter was not the first pope for many reasons including the fact that he was married and the FACT that the catholic church did not exist until the first pope was chosen in AD. 606.
Where are the "missing links" from AD 33 to AD 606???
Did you know that, after the papacy was introduced, there was a period of seventy years in which there was no pope at all? Did you know that for another period of fifty years there were two lines of popes? And did you know that at one time there were three popes? They were Benedict XIII, Gregory XII, the French pope, and John XXIII, the Italian pope. Where does all this leave papal lineage and infallibility?
You call us heathens, yet you are following a man instead of following Christ?? The catholic church is not the church that Jesus established. Read the documents in the source and study the Bible before blindly following your man-made creeds.

Sorry mate I was a Roman Catholic once upon a time (weird since I'm a big time Atheist, maybe even a 'lil Pagan...) anwyaz, I didn't really feel any enlightenment when I went to that place, more like...mourning. But I already know I'm goin' to Hell so I'm just ridin' on the Highway! And I think that anyone is close-minded enough to think such things ( I know some Atheist's are like that too sadly enough...too many) are the one's goin' down...but thats my opinion. Cheerio
