I'm getting the following message when I click on a link (both IE7 and Firefox).

Not Found
There is nothing here
No web page for this address
404 Error

My assumption is that the webpage has been discontinued. But if it were true, you'd get a different message.

There's a number of things this could be.

- The website has been shutdown (either voluntarily or not)
- The server hosting the website is temporarily or permanately offline.
- The link is misspelled and it is taking you to the wrong page.

404 is basically saying "I can't find what you're looking for."

The 404 or Not Found error message is an HTTP standard response code indicating that the client was able to communicate with the server but either the server could not find what was requested, or it was configured not to fulfill the request and not reveal the reason why. 404 errors should not be confused with "server not found" or similar errors, in which a connection to the destination server cannot be made at all.
