along with him as he spoke, would you accept what it said, providing of course that it agreed with the Bible? If it contained valuable information concerning your salvation, would you share it with others?

This I'm talking about is a very good sermon, and you've checked out every scriptural reference and this sermon has really done its job, it has helped you to understand a Bible principle more fully so that you can now successfully attempt to apply it in your own life.
This sermon is so well written and organised that you can actually use it as a companion or study guide to help understand this Bible principle as it is spelled out in the Bible.

Actually what I'm referring to is the World-wide Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Witnesses all have the same "sermon" all-over the world in their Watchtower magazine. It does not tell us "what to believe" but is simply a wonderful study guide that focuses our study of the Bible on ONE topic at a time so that we van gain an accurate understanding of the scriptures and God's requirements.
Just wanted to help dispell a terrible lie.

If it contained valuable information concerning my salvation, that information would have had to come from the bible. Why share the words of men with others, when I can go right to the source, and share the Word of God?

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: not all sermons. You say you checked the references, and understand the biblical principle in question, then that is what you need to look to. It is easy for some, though not necessarily you, to lean upon the words of their pastor, liberating them from God's command to read His word.

You've dispelled nothing, if it comes from watchtower it is completely unreliable, unless of course your not talking about Christianity, then it doesn't matter, because JW's are not Christians.

Hey! If he passes out a copy then why do we have to listen to it? Some of those guys go on forever and are not nearly as interesting or as informative as they think they are. Just give me a copy of the Homily on the way out, thanks.

If it was valid, I would accept what it said. But I probably would not share it with others unless they asked.
