It's a mutt that the "breeder" wanted rid of quickly.
No responsible breeder would supply a pet store so you know that the puppies will not have had optimum care or their parents any health screening. It isn't a hybrid, yorkies & chihuahuas are the same species.
If you want a mutt please go to a shelter, if you want a puppy go to a breeder where you can see the puppy and mother & siblings.
This cross won't be big but could be 10-12 lbs. It could also have any of the health problems common to both breeds.

Just ask yourself this;- If you had a quality purebred female dog, why would you risk it's life to produce a mutt litter when it could be producing purebreds?
The answer is it isn't quality or doesn't have the proper paperwork.

If you buy that mixed breed dog from a pet store I bet he will cost you a fortune! Pet stores sell "designer" dogs that are really just a mutt, and charge way to much for them. Many dogs purchased at pet stores are sick, and you could wind up with huge vet bills. I'm sure the dog is cute, but please don't buy from a pet store. They purchase their dogs from puppy mills that are filthy and they treat the dogs horribly. Puppies are taken away from mom as early as 3 weeks and shipped off in crates in semi trucks to the pet stores. I hope you reconsider. I'm not saying you should not get a mixed breed dog, there are many wonderful little dogs at the animal shelters, just don't pay a huge amount for a mixed breed dog at a pet store.

They're just mutts.

Pet shops are notorious for selling pet quality dogs.

they can be great dogs but not from a pet store as tehy aren't the best and often will have health and attitude problems.
