Some people say they have a "personal relationship with God", but they don't display it. Christianity isn't just about "speaking" it, it's about completely living it too. A lot of folks just don't do that.
What's your opinion?
(and before anyone says it, I am NOT judging. I'm stating a fact)

IMO. many don't know what it means to be a Christian. They are really selectively-observant semi-Jews or Paulists.

How can you tell?

Well, they pay more attention to the OT and to Paul's letters than they do to what is reported that Jesus said and did.

MY opinion is, that one can have faith and believe in Jesus, and pray, and worship-but still have a LOT of personal issues to work out. Yes, Christianity is also an action faith, but something you MUST remember, is Christians are PEOPLE, and sometimes, PEOPLE make mistakes. Christians are prone to sin, just like anyone else, and that is between them and Jesus.
Yes, a Christian should completely live it-but if you look back, even early Christians were not perfect. WE WORK on perfecting ourselves.
God isn't looking for perfect people. He is looking for people that He can perfect.

Many people have their theories on what a Christian is supposed to act like. Lot's of "Christians" hold up hate signs saying God hates homosexuals(but using the derogatory terms). The KKK even claim to be Christians. But the main thing you should worry about is your own relationship with God.

I am someone who doesn't completely identify with one particular denomination of the Christian religion, but I do have my own personal relationship with God. You might not see me in church getting the "holy ghost" but I try my best to live my life right, treat people with respect, and help people. Remember everybody falls down(sins), but you have to get back up again. People have to realize that everyone, including Christians make mistakes.

I also want to add, I am on a journey to get to where I need to be spiritually in life, it doesn't happen overnight.

I get my red flags up when somebody says to me he has a "personal relationship" with God. Most of the time this means he has "accepted" Christ as his Savior, and therefore is now a child of God.
The next premise is that he must "witness" to one and all, and try to "win souls" for Christ, and that he needs to "take care of his testimony" and "walk the talk".
But, then, again, we need to remember, he is still human, and the Bible says that Christians, those who are truly Christ's by virtue of His choosing and accepting them, and not vice-versa, have two natures in them, the old one, and the new one, and these two natures are constantly at war with each other - the flesh, and the Spirit.

The problem with religion, versus Christianity, is that it is trying to put its best foot forward, and when it fails, it hurts the name of Christ more than serving it.

I stayed out of church for a long time because of these same reasons.

I began smoking at the age of 15, and liked movies, and after my conversion, I still smoked, and still went to movies, and was ostracized after a while.

I think I know where you're coming from.

All life is a fight between the will of body and the will of the soul. A real Christian has a limit of his facts, he will don't do very bed facts, just he can't.
A Christian knows when has a sin, ask God for forgive him in the Name of Jesus, and tray again to be good, all days are gifts from God for can begin a new life, we must take this gift with love. Jesus was payed for all men sins.
To act like a Christian , for me means to love God from all my force and recognized in the men which is near me, my brother.
I read from jnsr site' the Eternal life means to be aid full'.

These are passive Christians or Sunday Christians. they often go to church and ACT like Christians there because it looks good. it is really hard to have a personal relationship with Christ. i thought that i had one for th longest time but it has only been recently that i have really experienced it. i believe that it is wrong to be a Sunday morning Christian. but some may not realize that they are not showing Christ in there daily life you may need to confront someone personally on this issue.

Your view is correct. Jesus said that not everyone calling out to him would be in good standing with God.
He condemned the ones who were stuck on traditions & teachings of men & did not follow the new laws he instituted.
Love God with your whole heart, soul & Mind & to love your neighbor as yourself. - Mark 12:30,31.

Below are listed some Bible principles that as Jehovah's Witnesses, we strive to live by:

Our relationship with God is precious to us & we live accordingly. In the privacy of our homes even.

The most outstanding mark of true Christians is that they have real love among themselves. (John 13:34, 35) They are not taught to think that they are better than people of other races or skin color. Neither are they taught to hate people from other countries. (Acts 10:34, 35) True Christians treat one another as brothers and sisters.—1 John 4:20, 21.

What you're describing is hypocrisy and some people act out of ignorance or insecurity. These aren't the things of God but remember we're all human with feet of clay.

What is your measure? To what do you compare a person's behavior to judge them not acting like Christians?

I am a Catholic and follow my faith. My faith is clearly defined in the Bible, decisions by the Magesterium and the Catechism. Do you know these things well enough to judge my behavior?

If you do, then God bless you, you are well on your way to good behavior yourself...

Yours in Christ Jesus, Grace

Living up to labels is always difficult.
Why is it that people who live in a civilized society frequently behave in an uncivil manner?
Welcome to the human race.
