Do you think there should be a purge of religious town and city names and have them replaced with something secular like "Just Antonio" and "Corpus Delecti"?

The French Revolution removed a lot of religious names (day and month names, I believe).

And San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Providence . . . hey, we could rename *those* Jose Diego, Big Gay Frank, Psychotic Delusions, and Random Chance! I think you're on to something here! :-)

BTW, Corpus Christi was named that because it has NO identifying or notable topographical features or landmarks, so the Spanish explorers who first landed there named it after that particular day's Catholic Mass.

No. What would that achieve?

Do Christians think that the days of the week and months of the year should be renamed because they honour pagan Gods?

I wouldn't assume that Christians (a majority of them anyway) were that silly and petty, so why do Christians insist on making equally idiotic assumptions about atheists?

Don't care, It's the name of the city. The only way I wold care is if you tried to change the name of a town to reflect christian beliefs.

Hmmm. Good question. They don't bother me but 'Under God We Trust' sure does. Of course, that wasn't originally in the pledge or on our currency and I think the town names are...originals.

No, that's not what most atheists are about. Try to learn a little about atheism, and you might be surprised.
