I am shocked and dismayed Mike's excellent answer got two thumbs down.......
my short answer to reducing CO2 emissions?
electricity generated by nuclear energy.........anyone else out there know the French get SEVENTY PERCENT of their juice form nukes?

You should always take anything that someone says, with a grain of salt, especially fanatics. I suspect that is where people get the false ideas that volcanoes contribute more CO2 than humans do, CO2 is the primary problem, or that sustainable methods will destroy the economy .
The best way to reduce CO2 emssions, is probably not to reduce them at all, but to remediate them by cultivating photosynthetic microorganisms that can also be used as a food source. Methane emissions is another story altogether, since methane production by ruminants does reflect inefficient absorbtion of energy from the biomatter that is fed to them.
On the other hand, using more sustainable methods to produce food and energy, which is what we should be focusing on, would in the end reduce the emissions, since use of fossil fuels isn't sustainable for much longer.
Remember emission reducing has been reduce to nothing more than political squabbling, where as sustainable method development is the true cause that we all should be interested in, whether or not we have to work alongside GW fanatics, to achieve it.
the problem with GW fanatics, is that they view the results(reduced emissions) as the cause, rather than fighting for the true cause which would have their desired result, and more. But, I also cannot support the fanatics on the other side, who make claims that aren't factual, while claiming them to be.

Look at from another direction . If u were able to stop all CO2 production what would happen??? The plants would die and we would also. The plants need CO2 as much as u need oxygen. Mother nature just marks it that way to be recycled . Methane is also a scam . Try to find it . if there is no green house there is no global warming.

No one should listen. Let it all go down the drain. I see it.
Its not a new thing. I've seen a big change in past 40 years,
most of it accruing in the past 8 years. I'm an old man! My
opinions don't count. I don't know what the h*** I'm talking
about. I know this, by the time the "know it all nay Sayers"
wake up, I will have been long forgotten. Don't listen. I for
one sure don't care. Enjoy the fruit from the trees I have
planted. I did my part. Did I past the test?

Because we want our children and grand children to have a healthy environment.
One good way to cut emissions is to create effective and efficient transportation. For example, I work in downtown Detroit. Huge rush hour traffic caused by way too many cars. Each car has one person in it. If there were a safe, clean mass transit system - many commuters would use it - and our cars would stay parked. What a huge amount of emissions would be prevented - especially if all our cities had mass transit.

Are you aware that CO2 level increase AFTER temperature increases? AKA CO2 is NOT the cause of global warming..

We must use the common termite as an alternative fuel since they create more CO2 than all the Hummers ever built.

why should we? haw can we is more like it. all they do is scream and yell and point fingers. these idiot drive their hy-brid cars (or worse fly private jets to lunch in direct violation of that which they preach) not realizing that building a prius causes more environmental damage (their kind in the form of co2 emissions. and the real kind that kills off environments) than the building and diving of 300000 miles of an H2.
these folks are nuts. the political leaders who feed them this nonsense do it to increase their political power and to build support for their efforts to fight capitalism and freedom all over the world.

It is impossible to achieve the reductions in carbon dioxide emissions that would be required to stop Global Warming.
To have any chance of stopping Global Warming we must cut world wide carbon dioxide emissions to less than one tenth of what they are today.
To achieve that kind of reduction we would have to shut down the entire motorized transportation industry world wide. There could be no automobiles, motorscooters, motorcycles, buses, trucks, trains, planes or shipping.
Next we would have to shut down all manufacturing including steel making and cement making.
Next we would have to stop the heating of all homes, factories and office buildings even when it is below zero degrees outside.
Next we would have to stop the heating of all water for washing and bathing.
We would have to learn to bathe in cold water.
Next we would have to shut down the generation of all electricity by fossil fuels.
We would have to achieve these reductions world wide, including The People's Republic of China.
The People's Republic of China plans to increase its use of fossil fuels and its emission of carbon dioxide by a large degree. They view any attempt to limit their use of fossil fuels and reduce their carbon dioxide emissions as a threat to their economy and prosperity.
The People's Republic of China alone emits enough carbon dioxide to cause Global Warming by itself, even if you get a reduction to zero production of carbon dioxide every where else worldwide.
Essentially it is completely unrealistic to think that you can stop Global Warming unless you persuade the entire world to go back to a stone age hunter gatherer existence.
The reductions in carbon dioxide emissions that you get from more recycling, turning out the lights and buying hybrid cars are so small, that they are relatively insignificant.
Fortunately we can mitigate the effects of Global Warming at a reasonable cost.
The sea levels will rise. We can protect low lying levels from flooding with dike systems similar to those on Holland.
Hurricanes will become stronger and more frequent. We should help the poor countries upgrade their disaster preparedness.
There will be more droughts. We can help the affected countries with supplemental water supplies and desalination plants.
We cannot prevent Global Warming, but we can mitigate the effects of Global Warming to a large degree and at reasonable cost.

we should never lisen to fanatics .we should listen to scientists with proven track records and many many of them have told us global warming is a fact of life
what you can do today to help is to change you conventional bulbs to energy saving bulbs ..if we all did this it would be a great help
