I recently just started taking Lexapro and I am worried about the sexual side effects. I don't mean to sound dumb, but are those more for men than women? If they apply to women too, do they go away after a while or will I never be able to climax? Cause as we all know, that would sux! Any info or tips are greatly appericated. Thanks

I started taking Lexapro about 3 weeks ago, and unfortunetly, I have a hard time climaxing. It is like I have to work for it. My sexual desire is still there, and I want it the same as always, it is just super hard for me to climax.
Don't fear though, as you can see, everyone is different. Maybe you will be a lucky one who has no sexual side effects!

I've taken Lexapro before with no sexual side effects. I've never had a decrease in sex drive due to any medication. It might be a common side effect, but it's all related to the individual's tolerance to the drug.

I don't know what the effects are on men, but as a woman I can tell you that your desire goes down. You can still climax, you just dont really care if you have sex or not. You're just not in the mood.

Everyone has different side effects to any drug, male or female, it's isn't a gender thing, it's an individual thing. If it goes on for more than two months, see your doctor about a different med.

I'm sorry to tell you yes low sex drive is common, I'm on lexapro for yrs and you really have to kind of work at it to get it back . Talk to your doctor about it
