because the far left are so against the republicans and Pres. Bush they are willing to lose the war and say the service men who have died wasted their lives to prove they are right
they don't care about the future of our country or the sacrifices of our service men and their families. they believe if we stop fighting this war the terrorist will just stop fighting and sing Coumbya with them. It won't happen, they will continue fighting until they are defeated or we are taken over by the terrorist.

They don't -- not outright, that is. The modern politician speaks through a variety of half-truths, ambivalences, and fluff through which one may (though it is unlikely) find substance should one make the effort to penetrate it all. Much of the bad one hears about Iraq is one, the other, or all three of those -- though in a contest, half-truths would win hands down in this case.
And if you really pay attention, they don't want to lose the war -- but they don't really want to win, either. See, to a politician, a war is little more than a cause for political advancement; the morals, causes, and effects are just so many cumbersome details to work through. If President Bush were to announce an immediate withdrawal to be completed by this time next week, people would be up in arms -- in the case of the liberal politicians, for all the wrong reasons. Bush-bashing has become an excellent tool for garnering political support among the louder, more extreme left-wing; the Iraq war is, as demonstrated so aptly by our national media, their primary source of ammunition. Remove that from the equation, and we suddenly find ourselves dealing with such petty squabbles as the commutation of a sentence or the firing of several attorneys -- on none of which one can base a political platform.
Assuming a Democrat of the presently-running ilk is elected to the Presidency, you can rest assured that the Iraq war won't end for a good long time because it will still be politically expedient to blame everything on George Bush for several years after he's gone. Not only will this advance the new President's political standing (but only among the extreme groups to whom he or she is currently pandering), but it will also absolve him or her of any responsibility for any disasters which take place during the new Presidential term. It's all in a nice, pretty little box, isn't it?

The Right Wing Authoritarian Gang Of Pirates, are that and not Conservatives either. Quite aside from the sort of reasons for going in, the goal of some sort of pro American would have had to be carefully planned long before the first tank went over the border. This was what happened in WW2 that they leave out. But rather than having a careful plan, everything was magical thinking that all would just happen for the best without any planning at all. So in result they made the stupidest moves possible time after time. Now when all is worse than lost, suddenly it is anyone who notices that all is FUBAR, who has magically caused the problems because they weren't wishing earnestly enough??? That story was lame in Peter Pan.

Let's start with the conservative owned liberal media's focus. They don't focus on stories that aren't big. There aren't constant reports on the schools, hospital, and infrastructure that was destroyed, so why would you expect the same regarding the rebuilding effort? You are going to see a mere line in the paper about either--it isn't news. While again I could use the 'it isn't news' argument to tell why you never see a report that 160,950 troops didn't get caught committing crimes (you'd only see that headline in The Onion), let me also point out that there haven't been many recent evil american soldier stories lately, and that it was more than a few who committed crimes in the beginning--it seemed that the Abu Ghirab mess went to the top but was hushed up and blamed on a few soldiers--and if your military goes into another country in your name with your money, they represent you--if we are going to say nasty things about people who fly planes into buildings, it is important that we don't sink to their moral level--'but they would do that to us' is no excuse for us.
No, it doesn't bother me that our enemy also wants us out of Iraq. Considering a news report today said that Al Queda is as strong now as they were on 9-11, obviously the fight in Iraq is not directly a war on terror--or we already lost the war and need to decide when to give up. War isn't a game--you don't get to put a W or L into the box score--unless there is an overwhelming victory, historians will be the judge of who won and lost. Empires have fallen because their leaders refuse to give up on lost causes in time. Iraq isn't even a lost cause--it's a total mess. I don't think anyone has ever said what would have to happen to declare victory--if the goal is stability in Iraq, why don't we just throw in peace for the whole middle east--and not give up until we are so broke we become a colony of China and Japan. We already did everything we said we were going to do--just because we failed to set up a puppet government doesn't mean we lost!
We could leave Iraq today and call it a win, loss, draw or whatever we want--our only tangible goal of the war (Hussein) has been met, so history will have to decide how well we did and whether it was all worth it. You may also want to consider the possiblity that we are the problem--that if we leave the civil war there could lose it's steam and ability to recruit new soldiers to fight us.

Liberals and Dems are a bunch of cowards... They think they can stop the war on terror by ignoring it... Clinton ignored the taliban and even passed up the chance to capture Osama, why....?, cause he was a coward.... Of course all the Libs blame Bush for Clintons failures because they ignore the facts too.. All they want to do is duck and cover under their mamas skirts... If they are successful in pulling our troops out Iraq, and attacks start happening here on US soil, then they will blame Bush again....
I was in iraq, I saw ALOT of good things happen, like schools built, school supplies given, and people walking the streets after living in fear for so long... But all the Liberals pay attention to is the media coverage about soldiers killed, and Iraqis killed... They dont care about the good that happens over there, they are negative pansies and only focus on negativity...
They say we should lose the war, because they have lost their pride to be Americans...

Once the terrorism stops, and the suicide bombers stops, the roadside bombs are no longer there, and the radical groups are gone, then there will be an end soon. There will always be terrorism, it has gone on for years. It will not stop. Whatever agenda Bush has set for the war in Iraq, it is not working. And quit blaming the Democrats that the war is lost because it is Bush that is war happy (just like his father) and he has made up these trumped agendas that is not realistic at all.
By the way, we should not fight for Iraq's battles because they can't see eye to eye. The U.S. have enough problems here, and Bush is not smart enough to see that!

The biggest reason why people think we are losing is that they do not listen to what the troops are saying.
Instead they listen to what they want to hear.
It is sad that so many people want the terrorists to rule Iraq.

When are people like you going to realize that this is a war that cannot be won? All we are doing is making the terrorists stronger and throwing away $12 Billion a day on a useless effort.

Bush and his supporters set the rules of this war. And nothing they have said yet proves that this war of his can be won anytime in the next 50 years and at a cost the American taxpayers can afford.
These things matter. Perhaps if we were really doing something about securing our borders instead of talking about it, more Americans would support the fool in the White House.
Keeping the 'enemy' engaged in Iraq isn't going to keep them from fielding cells in the US. The next terrorist attack in the US will bring that fact painfully home.
