According to a recent post for the linked question below, Christians who are not Catholic are "missing a piece" of the puzzle

Please understand, I am NOT in any way critisizing the Catholic church, I'm simply trying to understand Catholic docterine.

Thank you

Dear Midge: I understand what the document says. I just don't understand it. It doesn't follow scripture and no one is sufficiently explaining it. That is why everyone is up in arms.,
It's very sad indeed.
thank you

sorry-I meant to say I read it and understand it, I just don't see it as scripturally correct and no one is giving sufficient explaination.

They can't explain from scripture, because it is not sound Bible doctrine. It is a repeat of putting man's traditions over the written word like the Pharisees were so fond of doing, and Christ put them in their place and will be here soon to straighten the Neo-Pharisees right up.

In addition to the link to the Vatican site on the full document, provided already, you can take a look at a quotation of the relevant part at -

Well I would think that is not for the Pope to say, or any human being, that is for God to say. I would also have to think that if the Pope or anyone in any religion thinks they have all the pieces to the puzzle, then they had better have a good look at themselves first.
I do not think God cares what our label is, He cares what is in our heart, not about our sacrifices, or how we dance or sing, or recite words. He said so, and I believe Him. :)

Yeth. It was announced that non-Catholics do not have the right plan of salvation. Getting the Holy Ghost is not enough for people like me. I'm asking HG what I'm missing and He doesn't answer (yet?).

All religions have their own beliefs. As for me I am a Catholic, and I don't believe that we are more complete than other religions (or less). I believe that we are all equal just have our different ways of worship. A Christian is a Christian and I thinkare all equal.

Dear ramjet, I will not be as nasty to you as I finally ended up being yesterday because of this stupid twist on the story put out by Yahoo---a notoriously anti Catholic site. Please read the real article...

What is being suggested here is nothing new and should not shock anybody.

maybe they said it because Catholicism can trace all the way back to the apostles.. like the saying about you don't know where you're going unless you know where you have been.. plus, you're taking that quote from that post, who posted that? probably someone that is uninformed and not willing to listen to any form on information. besides, who is this person to call out another person for 'missing a piece', we're all missing a piece of something in our lives.. no one knows everything.

sweetie
again , the media have blown things out of proportion
over the past few days I have seen this anti pope thing going on
it seems that people are just picking and choosing to hear what the pope actually said
