It is normal to get razor bumps when you start using the electric razor. Once your skin gets used to it you'll be all right. Try shaving twice a day (morning and night) for a while. The hair is shorter and won't pull as much. Also shaving twice a day you won't have to press so hard.
If they keep getting worse you may be getting foliculitus (?) and need to ask a doctor about it. Not a big deal but you have to use the shaving powder and scrape the hair off your face. The worst part is the smell of that crap. It doesn't sound like you have it because you can use aftershave without screaming. Whatever you do don't go to a blade and keep switching, use one or the other. If you can do the electric, you will be happier in the long run.

1. Stop using an electric razor, they're crap. So are most of the other drugstore blades made today. Even to beloved Mach 3 is crap compared to the blades that used to be made.
2. The best shave you can get (save for maybe an old fashioned straight razor which are really hard to use) is an old fashioned saftey razor. It uses one really good blade, rather than multiple shitty ones. It's the sort of thing your grandfather probably shaved with at your age. You can buy them here

Go anywhere you want to buy them, I'm not promoting that particular site. The initial cost of $40 or so to buy one may seem high. But replacement blades can be ordered for a fraction of Mach 3 blades. Just remember that if you do get one you don't have to press it against your skin, you simply gilde it over your skin. Do research before using it. Master it and you will never have bumps again.
3. You need to prep your face before you shave. Do it after a hot shower, and then spend money to get a qaulity shaving cream. Again, the 3 dollar stuff you are probably using is crap compared to European brands. Look around online for some good cream. I like Geo F. Trumpers stuff, but its expensive, you can find cheaper stuff. Holding a warm towel on your face for a minute before applying cream can do wonders.
4. If you're really hardcore like me buy a badger haired shaving brush to apply cream, they cost anywhere from 40 -500 dollars. Buy a cheaper one to start.
Final note: A good shave will cost you a little money initially, but after buying everything the replacment blades for a saftey razor are much cheaper than anything sold in stores.

you need an astringent. When you shave, the electric razor pulls on the hairs, cuts them, and then they snap back, but under the skin surface. Then, your skin begins to grow right over the recessed hair. As it grows out more, the skin becomes irritated, and you get the pimple, as the hair has technically become ingrown. Look at the drugstore for a good aftershave/astringent, which will slow your skin from healing over the hairs, and slow or prevent this condition.

Listen to me I have to shave every day and I hate it. I mean I have to military sucks anyways you are getting whats known as shaving bumps electrics will do that unless your used to the them. If your stuck on it try putting lotion on your face about mid way through the day or after you go to bed. I would try shaving every other day with a blade. well good luck.

1. Get rid of the electric razor ... that's the biggest cause of your problem there.
2. Get a shaving mirror for the shower ... while you are in the hot, steamy shower, your face will be much easier to shave (ever wonder why the barber puts a hot steamy towel on your face before shaving????)

sounds like you have sensitive skin. my b/f face does that. try washing your face before shaving. make sure the electric shaver is clean each time. try putting baby oil on your face, then shave it...when you have sensitive skin, and you use razors, it gets irritated. after you finish, you can put the aftershave on. good luck shaving!!!

those bumps are razor burns and they will go away after you shave awhile. i am not sure what's in l'oreal aftershave, but don't use the any aftershave that have alcohol. it will burn your face. instead, after you shave, use a warm damp towel and gentle wipe your face. and use cream or balm after you shave.

Is your facial hair coarse or fine? If it is coarse, they may be ingrown hairs. This is a condition that is much more prevalent among Afro-Americans than Caucasians as the former tend to have much more coarse facial hair. Then again, it could be that you are allergic to the after shave or it just may be those dreaded teenage pimples.
