Yeah, me and a few of my friends. It's completely normal. I was immature in high school and shied away from boys. Once I got into college, I was mature enough to handle a relationship, so I got into some. There's nothing wrong with having your first relationship in college at all. Who cares as long as your happy, that's what's important. The past is past, keep looking forward. :)

That's not weird at all. I know lots of people who waited until college to date and I know practically nobody who had a relationship in high school that was healthy, balanced, and mature.
You shouldn't worry about your prior relationship experience. College is a great time to meet people and learn more about what kind of people you're attracted to and what qualities in another person elevate you and help you grow as an individual. You could have long term or short term relationships, but let it all come naturally and don't let yourself be pressured into staying involved with the wrong person. Remember, college is agood time to make mistakes and explore. And if there isn't anyone you find yourself clicking with, then have some fun. Relationships will come naturally at some point, and I know plenty of people who didn't date in college and went on to have very healthy relationships in the real world. Don't think of yourself as weird - everyone is different, and everyone is going through their own journey at their own pace. Enjoy it!

I'm going to be a junior in college, and have only had one extremely brief 'relationship'. Not weird at all. Patience is the key to finding the right person.

not weird at all!!! I know lots of people that saw college as a way to start fresh (after h.s) and maybe come out of their shell. It's an oppotunity to "reinvent" yourself, and if this means dating for the first time, it's fine....

Yes, moi. I was a late bloomer. I didn't like the soap operas so no, nobody knew all about my sex scandal life. No, it isn't weird. Other people don't focus so much on sex scandals, drama, rumors, and stupid crap so much in college. That's the good part. We grow up with any luck in college.

One of my boyfriends was a Jr. in collage and i was a freshmen. He always said none of the high school girls were ever up to his standards. (which always made me feel good.) We dated a year then he broke up with me because he went to med school.... Its not uncommon.
Its also nice to know that they waited a long time and you were the first person to really attract them. :)

Not at all!
Go at your own pace!
Personally I think people TEND to be more mature and ready for a relationship at this age.
