depending on the beach.. some have alcohol restrictions which could be tough.. you normally have to contact a hotel and use their services or the town to get a permit. A lot of beach towns offer the wedding on the beach adn then the reception inside their facilities.. which would probably be more suitable.. think food and dancing in the sand? doesnt sound all that romatic.. maybe have your wedding on the beach and a champagne toast on the beach- not the whole reception.. this also makes for fabulous photo memories..

congratulations!

Maybe, but there's a lot of factors involved:

1. Call the City Hall of the place you want to marry, and ask if they allow beach receptions.

2. If so, then look into renting a tent. You need to protect your guests from the sun. And what happens if it gets too windy and sand blows over everything? Will the food be covered in sand?

3. Will food be able to be cooked or served in a beach location? If your caterer needs to plug things into an outlet, will that mean 1000 feet of extension cords, or can the caterer bring portable equipment? (Or, if you're bringing your own food, will there be a way to keep things hot/cold if necessary?)

4. What about your DJ or band? Will they need to have access to electricity? Or if you're providing your own music, will you need electricity?

5. What happens if there's a storm, or high tide? Will you be out of harm's way from the water? Would you be able to reserve a nearby indoor location in case of very bad weather that a tent won't protect you from?

6. Are there any handicapped people who would have trouble walking on the beach? And will there be room for a table and chair for every single guest? (It's VERY rude to make guests stand for the reception, or even for the ceremony.)

7. Remember that an outdoor/beach reception means a LOT of rentals ... chairs, tables, linens, china and flatware, electrical equipment, a tent, permit fees, etc.

8. Is there access to bathrooms?

9. Is the beach open to the public? If so, people could very well walk right up to your reception and interrupt it, or steal food, or sit down and make themselves at home.

10. Are there any noise ordinances in your area? Would you need to keep the music and chatter to a certain level on the beach?

So, if it's allowed, there's a LOT of planning and preparation that needs to go into it.

You'll have to find out from the state, I know areas that require some sort of payment to have a bunch of people having a reception on the beach.

I don't know if you can have the reception on most beaches. They are allowing us to have our short ceremony on the beach (asked us not to set up benches and such though) and we're having our reception in the yard of our beach house. They wouldn't allow us to set up catering and such on the beach or serve alcohol on the beach (even though we're no having any anyways). You'll have to check with the city your beach is located in.

Also... if you do have the ceremony or reception on the beach, check and make sure you wont be interupted by the tide! You wouldnt want to have to pick up your skirt and run!

Many beach cities in the us will allow small parties but if it is a public beach expect some have city restrictions but on the up side if you live in the town or city you can get the beach for low cost or free and you will be glad you saved the money you will need it for rentals. think of beaches you would like then check there rental policy for party/picnic area. most cities have recreational websites. I was the first person in 96 year history of Wilmette, IL to get married on there beach.

Try going to Cancun or Riviera Maya. Not only do they have "All Inclusives" for all guests, but the alcohol is flowing as you have paid for the AI. Their restrictions as far as alcohol on the beach are almost nill. Typically the resort will help you plan something and can rope off an area of the beach.

You'll need to contact the parks and recreation dept. in the county that the beach is located in to be sure. As long as you follow the rules, like no glass or styrofoam containers, or whatever the rules happen to be, I don't see why not. People have bar-b-ques, family reunions, and stuff like that all the time. Just be sure and have someone reserve the area. Best wishes!

Some states require a permit to set up and have the wedding on the beach. I heard on TV of a wedding in Orange Country that required you to get a 10,000.00 dollar permit, but the couple decieded not to get the permit and no one said anything. Try looking at beau of tourism for where you want to have the wedding.

i would not recommend you place on a veil for a coastline wedding ceremony. Why? because of the fact, there is in many situations a wind on the coastline and that veil would be flying up, over and sideways. this may be a great distraction and look incredibly stupid together as you attempt to ignore approximately it or tame it for the period of an inopportune 2nd. aside from that inevitable nuisance, the photographs will look terrible together with your veil flying interior the breeze. I even have seen this for myself and the bride stopped the ceremony and took off her veil as she tossed it to her maid of honor. for the reason which you already are donning a hair accessory, there would not look a ought to characteristic yet another distraction on your head area. bypass away properly adequate on my own. What you have already got deliberate would be easy and gorgeous all on it particularly is very own.

my best suggestion for you, if you get married on a beach, do NOT under any circumstance wear nylons/hosiery, cuz they fill up with sand... lol
