All MOS's in the Army are necessary and needed.
The question you have to ask yourself is what type of work do you think you would be happiest doing and best at. What kind of work do you want to do in the civilian world when you finish with the Army, whether that is after one contract or retirement.
Thank you for volunteering to help protect your country and it's constitution.

Joining the Army regardless of you MOS, you will do a big service in defending our country. Just think, if you make it a career (20 years), you will be retired at an early age, and you could still work while collecting your pension. I have a lot of respect for men and women in uniform. My dad went into the Army at 18, and he was retired when he was 38 and he did 2 tours in Vietnam. I also have several friends who are retired from the Army. Follow your dreams, and I am sure you will be successful in whatever you do.
Good luck and God bless!

If you are young, bored at home and finished high school, yes it can help. After the test you take before entering, they should tell you what you are most likely good at. Also, the Army can really put you wherever they want, try to get it in writing or you might wind up doing something real dangerous. The other guy is right, learn as much as you can about computers, this way when you return to civilian life you should get a nice paying job.
Good Luck!

It all depends on what you want to do and how well you score on the ASVAB test. 31 is a minimum score to qualify for the Army and a 50 or higher will open more options for you. It also depends on if you have a high school diploma or not. If clerical work is what you want to do than yes, thats a good field to get into. All positions in the Army play a big role.
I hope everything works out for you and thanks for choosing to defend our great nation!

Sure. It's good to join for any position. The benefits are the same for everyone. And the knowledge and skills you'll gain will deffinately help you when or if you complete your contract and decide to work in the corporate world. Not to menthion the educational benefits.
Even in a combat arms position (scout) I used the educational benefits, gor my degree, served in leadership capacities, and when I graduated and was on interviews, I had a lot of places interested in me. Of course I could only pick one.
It've very beneficial, but be prepared to go on a deployment or two.

Why not? You would be helping many brave soldiers who are fighting for this country. They deserve some good spiritualty.
However, there may not be many jobs for priests.
