My initial question sucked - it was badly worded and the thought was incomplete.

Just wondering about how christianity will respond. Given this day and age and how biology seems to be changing it is possible, if not already, that some people are just simply born homosexual.

The standard answer would be that they cannot act on their feelings.

My question to that is would that be the same as asking a hetero person to suppress their feelings for the opposite sex?

How about a person born with both female and male organs? Do they get free picks?

I've been pondering the question myself trying to come to answer on it. I think I'll get there but I am curious about other people's responses.

Perhaps it is a choice for some but perhaps it is biology for another.

Again let's remember those born with both actual physical organs. That's a definite outward sign of what I am talking about.

it won't change much. Those who hate, hate for a reason- even if they don't know what the reason is.

And those who hate continue to hate, and they hate to be proven wrong.

I can't remember who the individual was, but I was reading an article where they were saying that scientists pretty much confirmed that homosexuality is a biological trait and they had some loony Christian guy commenting that now that they know it is biological they can find a cure. He was basically saying that homosexuality is a disease and since scientists have found the source of homosexuality it could be treated like any other illness. Wackos....

I think we also have to be careful about talking absolutes in this case or any other for that matter. There is likely a proportion of people who are biologically homosexual and a proportion who have made a choice regarding their sexual preference.

It is sad to say that some Christians do pick on those in the gay community. The Scripture, however, does not. The Bible treats all sin as sin. Granted, some sins have different consequences on earth. But the sin of heterosexual promiscuity is no more or less a sin than that of homosexuality. Homosexuals should be treated the same as everyone else. They need to be told that God's love for them is the same no matter what they do or who they are. They also need to be told the truth that homosexuality is a sin according to the Bible. Finally, that just like everyone else, if they accept Jesus as Lord and repent of their lifestyle they can be saved.

The issue of tolerance that is brought up by the gay community is a legitimate concern. But tolerance does not mean that we accept everything a person does or rewrite the Bible to suit someone's lifestyle. Christians need to love the gay community while not compromising our convictions. Tell the truth in love.

Our God created all of humankind. Why people question His actions, is beyond anyone's answer. But if the day comes when all man agrees with our Lord; that we are all created equal, then finally the walls dividing our religions will crumble and Peace and Glory will be abundant for all.

Born Gay, chosen Gay... All are loved in a true Christian's heart. The process of belief will only weed out the weak.

Psychologists have discovered what they believe may be the "gay gene", called GW or something. My boyfriend mentioned it so I don't know all the facts but it's basically a gene produced by the pinela gland or something when a woman's pregnant. It is passed on only to boys and increases "manliness" or whatever the word was Chris used. Anyway, it can become deficient in some women, especially after they've had several boys prior to the current birth or it may be effected by the womans diet. A defeciency in GW = gay son. Don't know about women though, I think that may be an overproduction of adreniline etc. or it might be a choice.

I don't think it matters actually, after all, no christian man is going to complain about two women kissing eachother in public...

on no account... the fundamental nature of what the communicate is on is by technique of the fact many Christians seem at homosexuality as a call, then its not actual to the guy, and thereby it truly is a sin as a results of fact it truly is perverting the real purposes of relationships that God set down in this Earth. in spite of each and every thing, the Bible has a stable call in its text textile in direction of authenticity "For whom God has prepare, permit no person separate". If Homosexuality is shown previous a doubt to not be a call, then it in basic terms gets put in the class of not being a sin. Doing this, would logically make human beings ask your self what have been the Biblical writers pertaining to whilst they wrote homosexuality interior the Bible. What became the point of that? it truly is attainable that the spirit would have inspired human beings to write down that interior the Bible so as that the Bible ought to entice as lots of a stable base of believers it ought to (given the innovations that have been around at that component concerning homosexuals). in case you think of roughly it, if homosexuality did not exist interior the Bible, the early Christians would have a not person-friendly time distinguishing themselves from the classic greeks back then, and that they might have had a not person-friendly time distinguishing themselves as something categorically distinctive and purer ya recognize? as a results of fact i'd surmise back then human beings did not understand homosexuality as many seem to not understand at present ya recognize? So there's a attainable reason that it could have been included, however the Bible ought to nevertheless count number as real ya recognize?

"If" is the key word to your question. You simply cannot convince me that people are "born gay" because one cannot begin to comprehend their sexuality until puberty and even then it would be influenced by ENVIRONMENT, not DNA. God doesn't create anyone "gay" for if He did, He'd be creating them into SIN when they're already cursed with the same sin curse that we're all born to because of Adam and Eve's sin! God is NOT the author of confusion! The Scripture says, "For what communion hath light with darkness? What concord hath Christ with Belial?" In this instance, it would mean, "What does God have to do with homosexuality"? He doesn't create something in sin, then denounce it as sinful! Adam and Eve were created in God's image, and I DARE you to find ANYTHING that could suggest He created them in evil! God only created the POTENTIAL for evil to exist, but that's another story..... As for hermaphrodites, the same principle applies, except that there would have to be some serious soul-searching done by the parents in order that a hermaphrodite child would be raised as either male or female without the parent's wants/needs clouding their judgment.

For the ones who are completely dead set on it is wrong, it would probably change nothing. . . .they would find a way to still make it wrong. Some people have their minds made up and are not open to learning anything new. . .or realizing that maybe they are not 100% correct on everything.

I don't claim to know or understand everything about being gay, but I do choose to respect a person . . .

we were all born in sin a shaped in iniquity.so if this proven to be so, it still does not prove that it is right. but still God holds the power to give rebirth. the one that is done through baptism.

anyway, we all have our flaws per say but its not for us to indulge in but rather to ask the lord to help us along.

Regarding the person born with both sex organs, that for him to decide but once a decision is made he has to stick to it. Either be a man or a woman but cannot be both.

Some persons thorn in the flesh are right there for the eyes to behold, some are not so conspicuous but this does not make either of them any less of a sin. So whether you are born a gay, an aggressor etc., we are all on the same level playing field where God is concerned BUT it is our decisions or choices that makes us who we really are.

good try though

That's a good question. I have heard some Christians argue that even if people have certain urges, they have the choice to not act on them. I would imagine that if it were conclusively proven that some people are born gay, a lot of Christians would make that very argument.

They will do the same thing they are doing now with evolution and any other science that proves their bearded old man in the sky doesn't exist, cover their ears and scream, "I'm not listening, la la la la. My God who I've never seen or actually heard says your are a liar pants with your 'ironclad evidence' and your fancy 'education'." It makes the blood boil doesn't it?
