I am getting married in a few weeks. I have been a single Mom for 12 years... and plan to have my son walk me down the aisle at my wedding.

My dad passed away a few years ago... so... in place of the Father-Daughter dance at the reception.... I would like to slow dance with my 12 yr old son.

Does anyone have any song suggestions?

Thanks :)

Since your son is 12, you may want to listen to use one of his favorite songs and make it more fun and upbeat. For example "We're All in This Together" from "High School Musical".

If you're set on the slow song thing:
1. The Greatest Love of All (Whitney Houston)
2. What a Wonderful World (Louis Armstrong)
3. You Are the Sunshine of My Life (Stevie Wonder)
4. You Raise me Up (Josh Groban)

How about a nice, fun, swingy Frank Sinatra tune, such as Fly Me To The Moon or something? I think your guests would think it was adorable to see you and your son dancing together to a song like that, and it wouldn't be as creepy as dancing really slow and close with him to a love song or something. It would probably make him feel really cool, too, especially if you teach him some fun dips to do to it.

The best advice I can give you is to split up your reception....save the hardcore music until the last hour or two of the reception so that everyone is happy! Then play whatever you want!

12 is an age where kids get embarrassed by their parents. He would probably be mortified to be dancing in front of people with his mother. We might think he'd be terribly proud, but he is a 12 year old boy, and that is how they are.

So have him pick the song. He won't want something mushy. So be prepared not to be dancing cheek to cheek either! It will still be wonderful, don't worry!
