In a few days I have to make an international flight and I'm very new to air travel. For the first time ever in my life I've bought an airline ticket, I booked a flight very early and got the ticket like two months before the flight date.
Now here's the problem, the people at the destination where I’m going to asked me to check the flight number and time of my arrival there. I checked the ticket; it has the time of departure and flight number of the first plane. I have to make a stop and change planes at Dubai; it has the arrival time for Dubai. BUT for the second flight number and arrival time to my final destination its written VOID.
Why is this, is it because I pre-ordered the ticket too early, or is the ticket invalid? Will it bring me problems at the airport?
As for the missing flight number and arrival time, I was able to get that on the airline's website just yesterday. What was more confusing is that on their website the number for the departure plane is different from that on the ticket but the departure time is the same, this is very confusing, I hope my question makes sense. If you have an idea if all this is normal please let me know.

It may be a multi page ticket. Check for a second page with flights for your second leg of your journey. (There should also be additional pages for each leg of your return trip, too.
If there is nothing which shows the second flight, call the airline or agency where you purchased the ticket.

Call the airline. Most likely, the airline cannot issue e-tickets or advance tickets for your trip because of your stopover; depending on the entire route, one or both of the countries involved probably has a restriction that International travellers must check-in in person before they can have an actual ticket.
Also, as to the flight numbers, often you will find that you are on a codeshare--- for example, I may book a flight with United but show up and find it is actually Air Canada operating the flight. Usually this is mentioned when you buy the ticket but sometimes there can be three or four airlines involved in a single flight. So you will see all sorts of weird things going on with the flight numbers. Don't worry too much about it-- do check to see that there has not been a change in time for the flight number you are assigned, but most likely it is just codesharing.

Sometimes they change flight numbers but they'll still leave at about the same time. So, that might be the case on the different flight number. As far as checking on the one that says void, it's always a good idea to contact the airline a few days in advance to make sure your flights are still scheduled (for any flight). If you provided them with an email address, they should notify you of changes, but that doesn't always happen. So, contact the airline about the confusing information. Have a great flight.

it is partly because u booked it too early. i've worked with an airline reservations before, from my experience one reason why you had that 2nd flight to your destination as void is because the airline probably changed the flight number. you purchased it 2months ago, probably the airline changed the flight because of the aircraft itself (sometimes airlines have to change from one small plane to a larger one), it could also be because of the increased demand for that same flight segment (dubai to your final destination city). these are just some of the reasons why we as reservations agent advise passengers to ALWAYS confirm flights at least 2days prior to departure to avoid inconvenience at the airport. best thing that you could do is to ask your travel or ticketing agent for clarification and ask them to send your itinerary to show you that "updated" schedule of your flights. these normally happen for what we call "shared flights" with other carrier or operator (wherein the flight number for Airline A is different from that of Airline B although that is just the same flight). well, it may sound complicated, but i hope i was able to help you in anyway. Happy trip !

Sounds like you are reading flight coupons. Flight coupons are supposed to say "void" in that box. The way they are printed, it can be confusing to read but not so bad if you only follow the shaded portions of the boxes. However, I don't have your paper tickets to look at, so I can't know for sure.
Even if you didn't have any questions about your ticket, you should still reconfirm. Airlines expect you to call in. They will ask you for some local contact phone numbers, etc.

Call the airline and have them go over everything with you. Make sure that you take good notes: who you talked to, the date and time of the call, as much detail as possible. Then I would go to the airlines website and print off what you can and can not bring on an airplane (if you don't fly much, you need to know this ahead of time to save you and those around you time getting through security).
Make sure that you do bring snacks and make sure to drink plenty of fluids while you are flying (lessens "jet lag"). If you have headphones bring those as well as a pillow.
Personally I always stay up late the night before so that I can sleep a good chunk of the time on the plane (also helps with jet lag). The other thing is make sure to stay up as long as possible the first night (get into their time change), this will help your body adjust a lot quicker than going to sleep as soon as you get there because you are tired.
Have Fun

you need to take this up with the airline that you are flying with immediately. it make just be a fluke, but you need to get it all straightened out now! before then so when you get to the airport you arent frantic to get on the plane, and have to deal with all that nonsense too! if it is just a misprint or some type of mistake, they will fix it with no hesitation!!!
goodluck.. and dont worry flyings not that bad!
