Have you ever noticed during an evolution vs. creation debate how so many of the proponents of evolution become angry and vitriolic and outraged?? What is it that fires them up so much? They get downright angry. Wonder why? Could it be, once again, the offence of the Cross?

When they propagate a lie, assumption, theory, guess and no one wants to believe it; they think they are smarter than God and they are riding a dead dog, then anger is all they have left. Darwin's evolution takes great faith and most of us already have great faith in the Lord. The evolutionist's plan is being thrashed.

I find that it is generally the blatant disregard by the unapologetically creationist person, who many times smugly denies the vast expanse of study done in an area. This is assured to cause frustration in someone who attempts to discuss the issue rationally.

On the other hand, some creationist become frustrated and angry at how evolution is well defended and rational, and have difficulty determining how both could be true. Or, how creationism could seem so irrational. In any case, most Christians are not "pure" literal creationists, nor is creationist synonymous with Christian, as fundamentalist Islam professes similar beliefs. Truncating reason for simplicity of interpretation.

Evolutionist fundies are, in my opinions worst than the creationists. They answer in a offensive way many intelligent questions.

I'm an evolutionist. Once i asked a question about how would people feel if there were no evolution. Well, it was one offensive answer after another (most people didn't even read the details) . It was not even an anti evolution question, my point was completely other, but it didn't matter! It was like i just committed heresy or something

And the worst part is that when you address to them that their offensive behavior characterize ignorance they go like :"Oh, but we're not offensive Christians are"-I've been here on R&S long enought to know that they are much more offensive than christians. Sometimes they also awnser : "Its hard to awnser such missinformed dumb question"- Still they respond offensively to any question regarding evolution (again, check out my question). And also, if you don't fell like awnsering, dont awnser.

Thats all i guess

Usually it stems from very ignorant answers given by creationists. It bothers educated people to see a majority of their peers uneducated. If you really want to see this in practice, ask a question like this: "If evolution is true, why is it still a theory". You will get a lot of people upset, because in the year 2007, most educated people should know why this question shows ignorance. But in reality, most people would not pass a 7th grade science test and still don't know what a theory is.

A typical accusation. Baseless. In any debate on any subject some people will get angry.
Its not a debate in the scientific community anyway. The issue was resolved over 100 years ago. Creationists just like to portray it that way.

It makes me angry that so many people are STILL willfully perpetuating lies about evolution despite the massive amounts of factual information out there.

By the way, I think it's funny that Mr. A links to a video that has NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING, to do with evolution. The only thing that happens in that video is an interviewer thinks he's "won" an argument with the interviewee because the interviewee can't pluck a name out of thin air. That's all.

Nah, it's just tiredness... going over the same material again and again and again.

Let me know when you have some new evidence for Biblical Creation.

It's not so much that they're angry as frustrated at the amount of ignorance displayed by the creationists out there.

It is the offense of logic. Such a morally and logically bankrupt idea as "Creation Science" is an affront to any thinking person and should be fought on all fronts. To think you people want to teach our kids this tripe and call it science offends the mind of any rational person.

I agree with the people that have already answered this. It is very frustrating to have to answer the same question over and over again. When, if people would actually read the journals, or even a textbook, they would see the methods behind everything and stop asking stupid questions.
