Does anyone have the experience of their child being sick and just running around like there not? I can tell my son is tired and doesn't feel well he's overly irritated and I am constantly having to chase my son down to aspirate his nose, and put saline drops in it so I can keep it clean. How much saline drops is too much, there aren't any real directions on the bottle? Can you catch a cold in the summer? Or could it be allergies. Someone please help!

It could easily be allergies. My daughter, however, ran around with a 103 fever and an ear infection without so much as a hint she was ill. Check the bottle of saline. Besides, saline, what else is in it? If it is just saline, it's only salt water, and it's not doing anything but helping to clean him out. If he doesn't have a fever, don't worry, it's likely to not be bad for him to run around. When he has a fever, it suggests there's an infection. Then I would make an appointment with his doctor to get antibiotics. If he continues to have the runny nose for a week or so, just call your doctor and ask if there's anything more you can do, but he'll probably just give you more saline. Good luck.

A couple of things:
Yes it could be allergies, which is why he isn't symptomatic of any real sickness and has no fever.
Yes you can catch a cold in the summertime, viruses know no season.
Saline drops should only be used when needed, if he is running around he obviously is not having trouble breathing. Try using them only at night and first thing in the morning.
Adrenalin can be beneficial to the healing process.
If you are not giving him any medication that causes him to be more lively than usual then don't worry about it. If his runny nose doesn't clear up in the next week or so you may want to test for allergies.

of course you can catch a cold in the summer and it is probably the nose drops that are making him like that they should only be used twice a day
