The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.
Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net that has been around since 1995.

Those of us with an unlimited carfax account pay a premium for that service. reprinting, redistributing or reselling the reports is a violation of the carfax TOS and equivalent to illegal music downloads. Carfax can, and has in the past, cancel a subscriber account for violations of this conditon. Its not worth 10 YA points to save you $30 and lose my carfax account. If you feel the information is important, pay for it. If you feel you cannot afford the report then you absolutely MUST get it. If you cant afford the report,. you cant afford to buy a car with potential costly repairs. Or, do the best thing - take the car to a qualified mechainc for a thorough mechanical inspection. Yes, it will cost $75-100, but can prevent you buying a money pit, or assure you that you are getting a good car.

Why do you think that it should be free? The title history companies exist to make money. Someone had to pay for the computers, employees, research, office space and utilities. They took a risk with their money to offer a service. If you want that service, you have to pay them their asking price!
Do you work? If you do, do you get paid? Would you continue to work if you got no pay? You are not willing to give your employer your services for free, but you think that others should provide you with free services? Who made you special?
If you want a history report, pay for it. Do not try to steal (yes I said STEAL) someone else's labor!

Why is everyone so upset with this guy asking for a free history report?
Stealing music huh??? Of course you should, the major record labels are stealing from us when they charge 15 to 20 dollars a CD...
It should be free...

Why should the report be free? These companies provide a service and are entitled to fair compensation. I suppose you think music cd's and dvd movies should be free, too. Pay up you cheapskate!
