My father was a Christian scientist, my mother was a Catholic, neither of them practicing.
I was baptized Lutheran so that was i wasn't forced into one of there religions. (they are kinda opposites)
I thought that was the best thing for me because it got me looking into different religions and finding out what was best for me.

Depends on whether you want to keep peace with your parents...is that important to you or are you more of a free-thinker? Sounds like the latter, since you have already labeled your parents' religion as "dumb".
Everyone has to choose what they want to believe in, and that will include your kids. When they get old enough, they too will make choices, regardless of what you teach them...When I was a kid I was forced to attend the Methodist church, do the youth fellowship, etc. It pretty well turned me off to religion and now, if I walk into a church, it's for a wedding or funeral and I half expect the place to collapse on me...K ;o)

u dont have to stay with whatever religion your parents brought you up as.
as long as you agree and feel comfortable with the religion you choose, it doesnt matter if u were baptized or raised in a certain religion.
obviously you dont agree with your religion because u call it dumb. find out which religion (if any) that you believe in and stick with it, or pronounce it as your own and pass it on to your children. when they're older they will form their own opinions.
alot of parents choose not to baptize their children until they are old enough to even know what baptizing or joining a church means...and more importantly what their religion means. maybe you should do that.

I don't know what you mean "born to a dumb religion" and I don't know what you mean by "dumb religion". No one is born to a religion. You may have family that adheres to a certain religion, but you don't have to, unless you are in a country to forces you to. And you certainly don't have to encourage your children in a religion that you don't believe in.

Lol... Well, I'm sure to them it's not dumb... And who knows, it might not be to your children... I'd personally say, introduce them to your religion, (Religion teaches the proper social mannerisms, basic respect, etc..) and then let them decide for themselves. I'm personally not a religious person, but I was raised in a religious environment, and it taught me a lot about self-discipline.

If you don't like your parents religion, find one that works for you and make it your own (or don't even have one). Don't force a religion upon your kids, share with them your beliefs and express your wishes to them, but let them make their own decisions. Religion that is forced upon people doesn't usually go over well.

No - that would be dumb. Don't pass along a religion in which you don't believe. Your kids will see right through you.
