Evolution is the change in the inherited traits of a population from generation to generation. These traits are the expression of genes that are copied and passed on to offspring during reproduction. Mutations in these genes can produce new or altered traits, resulting in heritable differences (genetic variation) between organisms. New traits can also come from transfer of genes between populations, as in migration, or between species, in horizontal gene transfer. Evolution occurs when these heritable differences become more common or rare in a population, either nonrandomly through natural selection or randomly through genetic drift.

Now there's also creationsism, which states that God created everything. However, evidence supports evolution and not creationism. The thing you have to remember is that God as a concept isn't the oldest relegion. Polytheism (belief in more than one god) is by far the oldest. According to different religions, different gods created the world. If we accepted creationism, then we would have to accept that multiple gods created everything. The Catholic church moved in and tried to wipe out all other religions (they teach us this in Catholic school) and try to make their religion the only true religion and thusly their God the only true God. The long and short of it is this. Evolution is real, creationism isn't. There is more than just one God out there, you just have to have an open mind to able to see the real truth.

Evolution (simply) is survival of the fittest on a huge scale.

Evolution is (more in depth) random mutations of Genes cause animals to differ from their parents, if the mutation is an improvement on the genes of other members of the species the animal will be more likely to survive and pass on its genes to future generations. However if it is not an improvement it will not be able to pass on it's genes.

There are many examples of animals what have Evolved recently (in the last 10,000 years). Example:A species of moth who would have a mutation that changes the colour of its skin to a darker colour: Before the industrial revolution the mutation would be killed off by predators as it is to dark to be camouflaged on the tree. The pollution from the industrial revolution changed the colour of the trees so the darker moth had more chance to survive to pass on it's genes, today the darker moth is a new species.

This is undeniable proof of Evolution and, in my opinion, makes Evolution a fact rather then a theory.

Evolution is true science and is how life changed through Natural Selection over billions of years to become the lifeforms that they are today. I believe in it, and so does all intelligent people...including many Christians.

Evolution is the process of changes in genetic material moving through a population over time. As far as who believes it...pretty much anybody that actually understands it (in that it is the most accurate theory at the time).

Evolution is the explanation of how a few (perhaps one) species gradually changed to become the many species that have lived and/or are living today.

Those not suffering from religious delusions accept it as the best explanation we have for how life diversifies and adapts to environmental changes.

It really isn't a question of belief as it is proof via evidence.

evolution is when the people of R & S learn to ask specific questions in their right categories...

hehe

it hasnt happened yet. therefore I dont believe in evolution.

I like to throw the paradox about this whenever this particular (sensitive) subject comes up, I believe in God first, evolution second. They can co-exist, no matter what, after all, all is possible with God.
God I love God.

I have a hard time with the idea of life staring as a blind single cell and evolving to the point of complexity of being an unthinkably-complex creature with features like two perfectly-balanced eyes that can capture infinite levels of details and colors (that evolved, supposedly, simply out of need?)

There's far too much order and complexity in the universe to abide by a theory like that.
