Or should I say, learn how to formulate a question?.

I think they should learn to WRITE English, since speaking is not part of the use of Answers anyway. But they needn't be without errors in their English. They simply need to get close enough to proper English to be understood.

But I also think they should not be too sensitive if someone such as myself includes a comment clarifying what is understood where the question is somewhat ambiguous due to poor grammar or choice of words, let alone those frustrating abbreviations developed in IM.

I have often started an answer with a sentence beginning, "I must assume you meant . . ." in order to let the person know what I am answering. Sometimes they really can be read more than one way. Of course, sometimes that ambiguity is intentional, meant to be humorous, etc.

Speaking is fine, but what is being needed here in Yahoo Answers is the Writing capacity of the person.

A lot of native English speakers write what they speak and the writing an eyesore.

Let's not discriminate them, rather be happy and proud coz they love our language and their willingness to learn is more important.

That is the key to Effective Communication.

To offer a solution and an answer is a Good Samaritan.

I think that people need to learn Grammar not just English. Some of the questions people post - you can't understand what they are trying to say/ask.

English the American way you mean or English the Brit way or English the Aussie way. People like us know English but not the English that you know. So probably you would interpret us wrong like I interpret you wrong. This is not an English language class and so I think as long as what you write is understood, there should be no problem. No, no, no ???

I think that the main thing is that we understand each other. Another thing that I have been wondering about is, why English speaking people spell so badly. One thing more that makes me quite angry, is why English speaking people often think their language is the best in the world and they rule the world. In my opinion we should show some respect to each other despite of language or colour of skin. Thank you!

Why limit the language to only English? Yahoo Answers are happily supporting other languages so why make everyone learn English? That makes no sense at all.

It would be nice, but people from all over the world post questions in English. I think we should be tolerant and maybe correct the most glaring mistakes.

We all are trying to improve our English by answering questions and using the spelling check.

Some folks are here to practice their English, and that's A-OK by me. Some so-called native speakers could use the Spell Checker more often though.........
