just bought some dvds off ebay but they are region 1 and ive got a region 2 dvd player anyway to change this my player is a alba dvcr2xi im in england thank you

Get DVD player software for your PC and a DVD drive if you don't already have one. Set this to R1 and watch your R1 DVDs on your compy.

Most decent DVD players can be 'hacked' (often with the manufacturers own code) to play DVDs from any region.

Cheap DVD players (such as those from Alba) are usually 'region locked' and cannot be made region free by any method. That is one of the reasons why they are cheap...

you need a Multi-region DVD player to play those Region One DVDs. No other option.
Unless your current player is multi-region, in which case go through the settings and change it from region 2 to region 1.

You might be able to find something like an 'unlock code' on the net for your DVD player. This will involve typing a series of numbers using the remote, the result being you DVD is region free!

Ive never actaully done this though, an you should be aware it will probely void your warranty.. As i say, check out the net for more advice

i dont think they work my girlfriend has just done the same as you she got a film of ebay and it region 1 aswell i suggested she she gets a region 1 dvd player but they might not work over here because we use PAL and region 1 is NSTC
