Don't buy the puppy in the window! Search out local breeders of the breed you want. Puppy in the window is most likely a puppy mill version! Not a good thing for you and your family.

I think it's sad that people refuse to buy a pet from a pet store. Even though I would probably rather give an abandoned dog a home, every animal deserves a loving owner, no matter where it came from.

Please don't support pet stores that sell dogs. They come from puppy mills where the dogs are treated horribly and live in small cages their whole lives only to have litter after litter, after litter. Purchasing a puppy from a pet store only lines the pockets of these cruel people and increases demand, which in turn adds to the overpopulation of pets.
Please read this excellent Puppy Buyer's Guide to find out how to buy a responsibly bred puppy.
