I don't think that wondering about the meaning of existence is pointless, I think it's one of the most important things there is. You're not wasting your time, you deciding how to live your life. I don't think that a life of hedonistic pleasure is worthwhile, you'd get sick of it pretty quickly. You have to find some point or meaning in life just to keep yourself interested in staying alive.
We don't have to debate, but we want to. The whole reason why we talk about it is that we don't really know, so it's only by discussion and sharing ideas that we can make up our minds. I've changed and refined my ideas by talking about them. Just because you make a decision at age 20 doesn't mean that decision will still be the right one for you when you're 55. We change constantly and our environment changes constantly. It makes sense for us to continually reconsider our ideas.
I feel sorry for people that make a decision and then close their minds to any possibility that they're not 100% right. Why those people come here to debate, I don't know.

Sounds like you've never tried to even find out the truth. Have you actually read the Bible? If so you mustn't have had much understanding. I always love how God in the Bible says he does something, and then say that He did it so 'They will know that I am God'. Sounds like He has given enough for us to know 'that He is God'. Plus there is so much fulfilled prophecy.
Isaiah 11:11-12 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
That should end this debate. It is fulfilled. He is real.

Debating is a waste of time since there is no single right answer. Discussing, though, can be valuable, to learn more about other religions as well as your own by comparing and contrasting ideas and ways.

I think time living is wasted anyway. I personally am an atheist. I think that you just stop existing. There really is no point in arguing whether there is a god or not. You can't prove anything. Faith does not prove existance. It proves that you believe, if you're christian, that some cosmic jewish zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolicly eat his flesh, drink his blood and tell him telepathically that you accept him as your master so he can remove an evil force from your body and 'soul' that is in all humans because some rib woman was convinced by some talking snake to eat from some magical tree.

I find other people's opinions rather interesting (no matter what their opinion on religion is) and I've found that I agree with sections of some religions. As for "all that time wasted"... I'd rather call it an intellectual pursuit

Your avatar is scary, and I debate because I like to debate, and I have faith that what I believe is the correct belief system. So even if you don't agree then well I will still do it.

you are held captive by someone who believes that eating your heart and liver will give him magical powers. tell me are you going to try to convince him otherwise? sure it's an extreme example but one example is enough to demonstrate that it can be worth doing sometimes.

I think the word you are looking for is ego!!! Most people are close-minded and don't want to believe in anything else because it just puts more doubt in their mind.
