I am asking my girlfriend to marry me next friday, but i respect her father ...so anyone got any good ideas how and when to ask h for his daughters hand in marriage

It would be a good idea to contact the father of the bride-to-be and ask him if you could meet him.
Go out for coffee, take him to lunch, visit him at his home... etc.
Take the ring with you so that he can see you are serious.
You could say something along the lines of:
"Sir, I love your daughter and want to provide for her for the rest of my life. There is no one I've cared for more. Next Friday, I would like to propose to her. Out of deep respect for you and your family, I wanted to ask for your blessing."
It should touch his heart and fill him with joy and pride.

Take him out, Tell him you Love his daughter with all your heart and want to have a life together and you respect him and want to do the honourable thing, and ask for his blessing to do so.

Hi i think its too late now there is no point in asking now when you already had taken decision and planned everything. It would have been better if you have asked this question before setting a date and time for your marriage and i think the responsibility also lies on your friend too. But its never too late just go and share your decision with the family, i think they will understand

My husband went to my parents house when I was working (at night) and asked both of them for their blessing.
If you just want to ask her father then you can go to his house when you know she's not there or take him out. Either way, good luck and early congrats!!!

first of all, props to you. thats very chivalrous and shes a lucky gal to have met some one with such values. i think maybe you should take dad out for dinner or lunch. start maybe with how much you love her and what she means to you, and then ask for his permission. do you have any hobbies in common? maybe you could take him golfing or something. good luck, and i wish you happiness!

Yeah.Make sure you have a job and have kept it a while, have your own car and your own place to live.This will show him you are responsible enough to take care of his daughter and any kids you make with her.
