You only have two weeks??? WOW, I used to have two or three months to train for my fights. That is not a lot of time.

I recommend you work on endurance and flexibility. The first thing that may happen is you will move to slow and tire fast.

lifting weights and hitting the bag are fine, but you need to build up cardiovascular by jogging, jump roping and such.

ALSO try to do a lot of sparring to stay on your feet.

Thats all i can suggest with such short notice in training.

good luck.

You don't say what training or experience you have in fighting but it does not sound like you are ready to step into the ring with anyone-let alone an experienced fighter who may have been training for the last 4-5 weeks. You also don't say if this is a real fight or just an exhibition and even an exhibition can turn nasty if the experienced fighter decides to make it that way for the inexperienced fighter. Two weeks is not enough time for a "kinda out-of shape" person to train and fight an experienced fighter and if you had any real experience you should know that. You already somewhat imply that you do since you ask "how can I be ready". I suspect that someone needs you as a fill-in and you made the mistake of saying yes. I would quickly change that answer to yes but only an exhibition and make sure that the other fighter and his manager/coach knows also.

Only 2 weeks notice? You don't say what kind of fight, but with that kind of notice the best thing you can do is get a lot of cardio in. Cardio is the most important factor in any fight. Jump a lot of rope, and get some rounds in on your heavy bag. Also cut out all refined sugars in your diet. If you have any friends you can spar with I would recommend that also.

Plenty of sleep. Healthy food. Protein. Train hard every single day and devote the time you have left to get your self in shape and ready for anything. Good luck.

Start running everyday...Because you're going to have to run to keep from getting your a.s.s. kicked.
